| Going to a breeder Friday, BTW I am NEW! Hello my name is Sarah and I too am in love with this breed. All my life I wanted a dog that'll fit my needs as a person. I found a nearby breeder in Towson, Maryland and thanks to Yorkietalk.com I will know all the right questions to ask him. I am still scared though. I've been a silent reader of basically all of the threads and forums and to read the experience of let down buyers of this beloved breed shocks me. What if I get sold a sick baby? What if everything goes fine and dandy, only to take him(her) home and she/he dies or gets ill? The guy named Richard said I am welcome to come to his home and look at the sire/ dam and potential babies, he's selling them for 500$ I am so scared ya'll. I have spent my life looking for someone to love, something that'll remain constant, not only for loneliness but companionship, loyalty and trust. I know this all sounds too cliche but it's what I long for. I am prepared to take care of my little hopeful. Wish me luck and more advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanx, Sarah |

| Well I understand your fears but there are no guarantees in life. Just make sure that he gives a good health guarantee and make sure you feel comfortable with him. Good luck and can't wait to see pics! |

| Where did you get him? Do they have a web site? Ask what the members here think about their site if they have one. I so wish I had gotten Max after I joined this site. He has had and still has a lot of health issues. I live in MD but I went to Breny (YT member here) to get our new puppy who is coming TOMORROW!!! YAY!

| She is in MI but she is shipping the new puppy to me. (1.5 hr from MI to BWI) She is well known on this board See http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...-michigan.html We bought "Drew". See Brany post farther down the sale page. I will NEVER buy from an unknown breeder again. I bet I have $3000 in vet bills for Max already (He was born Feb. 2008) and we are looking at another 2000-3000 at least for his Luxating Patella surgery on one leg he may need. I got Max from DC Dog Finders. Sorry if I seem mad. I am upset that he has had to go through so much.

| Congratulations Sarah! You think you are in love with the breed now well just wait until you get your new baby! You will be head over heels! Trust me they are the best. You will love that baby as if you gave birth to it. I am sure you will more than likey have a positive breeder experience. Especially since you have done your homework. Best wishes and can't wait to see pictures. Melissa |

| Hey! I bought my dog from an un-reputable "breeder" in Baltimore, basically just a girl who's female got pregnant. I saw him listed in the classifieds. While I wish I had looked more into it before purchasing, I could not be happier with my Jackson. He's the smartest, healthiest (so far) dog I've ever had. He's not your "standard" Yorkie weighing in at 12.5lbs and I've had people tell me he may be mixed w/ Silky but I really don't care. He's a good pet, I was never interested in breeding or anything and I highly prefer his size so it worked out for me!
