Bad coat My 7 1/2 month yorkie has a thin and short (1/2 inch) coat. He's eating Flint River Ranch dog food which I believe is a great dog food. He's healthy. Vet says he looks yorkie although I've not tested him. He's AKC registered. Has anyone ever had coat problem first year that came out of it??? I'm curious to see if there have ever been good results in this area. Thanks!

My Adie's fur took a while to reach any length but I don't think it took that long! As far as the other issue....Gracie came to us with very dry brittle hair and we gave her "Omega Treats" wwe found at PetSmart. That plus medicated bathes them conditioning shampoos worked wonders for her!

Your pup might just have a very slow growing coat. It is hard to judge the texture from the pictures. Does the coat feel dry and course or its is soft and silky? You could buy some salmon oil and give him a teaspoon once a day and see if that helps.

| He looks like a beautiful little yorkie to me. Has he ever had a haircut? Some may just take longer to grow their coats. You might try a search for this topic on this site for "thin short hair/coat". I think he looks like a doll!

His coat feels very soft. It's not dry at all. I've babied him trying to get this to pull through. He's very soft. But the hair is short. There are small amounts of longer hair spread throughout and it's soooo thin. Kathy Denny was the beeder (KY).

OMGsh, he is adorable!! I have a 6 month old and his hair is coming in around his face and feet mainly. Not so much on his body. In fact, we just took him to the groomers and he looked like he had a skirt Could be just slow growing...

He is very cute! The only part that's ever been cut is his ears, that's the only part of him where hair grows!

Do you brush him every day and if so does a lot of fur come out? He may still have his puppy coat and those longer hairs are becoming his adult coat.

I brush him daily but I've seen no hair falling out and no shedding. His hair hasn't changed since I got him except that his ear hair grows.

| He just melted my heart! So cute----I thought my Lillie had a short coat too, but I noticed 'after' her first cut, it grew a LOT quicker....I thought I'd give it a try now she's getting to be a little furfluff!
