| It might stop when you have him neutered but then again it might not. Mine used to hump a stuffed animal but I havent caught him doing it since he was neutered.

| Bender had a big problem with this as well. He is always ready to go at it with his big stuffed Brain (the mouse). What we did with him was train him that it was bad to do when others were watching. It was rather embarassing when he would start humping the mouse around company. After about 3 months of coaxing him not to do it around people, he got the hang of it. He still begins humping the mouse every now and again (once a month or so) but we just say his name and look at him with a disappointed look, and he drags the mouse into another room. He still licks himself, but not during the day. I catch him at it at night when I get up to use the restroom or some such thing. So, my suggestion: try training. My mother has two male yorkies and they are both neutered and still have nothing better to do than lick themselves all day long. ~LeAnn |

| Humping is not strictly sexual with dogs. I actually am looking for the perfect durable stuffed toy to give Chewy for this purpose. I think it's a healthy emotional outlet for a normally dominant dog. Besides, it's really funny and tires them out! |

| I don't have trouble with my male but my female (Zoe) hunches on anything she can find on the floor. If I leave any clothes on the floor I will find them balled up and know she has been at it. We call it riding the pony. What makes her do this? I thought after she had her hysterectomy she might stop but she still does it. |

| we have the same problem with my baby. She just got spayed yesterday and still saw her humping today. I hope that the spaying would lessen the behavior in the future. Goodluck to both of us. |

| The ASPCA in Manhattan will do it for FREE. maybe there is something like that in your area? You can go onto the friendsofanimals.com website and you can get a coupon to use for neutering. As for the humping, i don't know what to say, they are dogs! I try to discourage it cause I don't want him getting in the habit. |

| Getting him neutered. won't make too much of a difference. At least it didn't for Poncho. It's a guy thing. I have heard it's best to get them neutered if your not going to breed. Poncho gets excited when Princess is in heat, I'm just glad he uses his bear and not her.

| Leili still humps now and then at 2 years old even she was spayed at 6 months old. She has a toy which is an cotton animal head with a long body and a round handle at the end. A lot of times she sits on top of her toy head and bounces herself up and down. I don't know what that means but she seems enjoy that a lot. Cathy |
