| I take Mellie's out everynight. I just know I don't sleeping with a pony tail so I figure she doesn't either.

| I leave millie's hair up for a few days at a time. I take it down and put it up again in that interval because she still has "fly aways" and it constantly needs to been re-done. If she was not such a mess, I might keep it in there for a week. No prob. |

| First of all, I doubt that the ponytail will stay in for a whole week! I love keeping Chewy's hair up, but I do it daily and I take it out at night just to give it a rest. I think if they constantly have their hair pulled up, they can end up with a "hotspot". |

| Your lucky you have to take it out! Princess get's hers at the groomer's and by the time I get her to the car, she already has it out. It's really had to get a picture of her with one.

Wow, I cant believe your dog will let you leave it in for that long. I really dont have an option. CHloe's topknot start falling apart within an hour so I have to re-do it constantly. I think the hair grows fine with the topknot especially if your dog doesnt mess with it.

| I brush Gus's hair every monring and replace his topknot or ponytail then. His ponytail is left on while sleeping. But I do loosen it before the goes to bed. I have really long hiar and can not stand it loose when I am asleep. It gets all over. I keep his up so that it's not down in his face. I have left it in a few times for up to 2 days, but when taking it out after that many days, his hair get natted at the base and will sometimes pull hair out when removing it. So I try to be on top of the grooming and replace or even take it down for a few hours to a day.

Even though she wears a top knot everyday, I do move it around to different spots so it doesn't make her head sore. I know how my head feels after wearing a pony tail all day! Whenever I take her hair down to redo it I always give her little head a massage where the top knot was... Mia on the other hand- if I can keep her top knot in for a few hours I figure I am doing good. I have never had to worry about her sleeping in it- she makes sure it is long gone by bedtime! Even though Mia doesn't bother her ponytail anymore, she just doesn't have enough hair there to make it stay put for very long. But I still make the effort every day so that when she does have enough she will be use to it. Last edited by Yorkie Owned; 09-30-2005 at 08:05 AM. | |

| Piper HATES his hair up and he has this crazy hair that hangs in his eyes so I'd LOVE to be able to pull it up. As soon as I put a topknot in he rolls around and rubs the top of his head against anything he can find and TOTALLY messes it up. Or my Boxer will grab it in his mouth and pull it out for him, so I am left frustrated and missing expensive bows (my Boxer ate one). Maybe if I try it a little at a time and attempt to keep my Beo away from Piper for a little maybe it'll stay in and he'll grow used to it like it has been suggested on here? Wishful thinking on my part...
