| Dog treats Hi all, I am a new member to yorkietalk and I look forward to all the information I am going to obtain. My yorkie Sasha is 5 months old and I have not been able to find a treat that she likes. What are some treats that yorkies will eat and enjoy? All suggestions are welcome.... Thanks, |

| puppy treats My little Belle gets teddy bears from Petco. She has such a tiny mouth most treats are too bit. Petco has their treat bar where you can buy different treats by the pound. Most of them are kind of big but they have little teddy bear treats that Belle just loves and being they are small you get a lot for your money. |

| Jackson's picky w/ his treats, too... but he loves the Wellness treats (they're little square shaped soft treats) and Bil Jac treats (in a purple bag with a Yorkie on the front, they're liver treats). He also loves cheerios and anything soft & meaty, LOL.

| I usually avoid store bought treats because most of them contain soy. At Petco they sell the Natural Balance Dog Food rolls and I buy the Lamb and Rice flavor. I just slice off a little of the roll and cut it up in bite size pieces. Most dogs are crazy about it. Also at Petsmart they sell the Pet Botanics Dog Food rolls that are just like the Natural Balance rolls but a little cheaper. One inexpensive treat that my dogs are crazy about is egg noodles. I will cook up a batch of egg noodles, drain them and add a teaspoon of coconut oil to coat them. My babies go crazy over them. I just give them a few at bedtime. I keep them in a container in the refrigerator. Just make sure you buy the ones made with egg yolk and not the ones with made with egg white. Other healthy treats mine get are little bites of raw carrot, steamed broccoli, squash or green beans. They also love a little sweet potato. Of course if you dog has a weight problem it is best to go easy on the treats but the vegetables are the best choice if your dog has a weight problem. |

| I like to give Sophie the crunchier treats when I can because I believe it's better for her teeth and gums by way of cleaning them and not leaving soft food particles on her teeth. She like the AKC chicken or liver and rice training treats which are kind of soft but I only give them once in a while. She likes tiny bits of carrot and apple, too. A bakery I use here bakes doggie biscuits also and gives them to Sophie for free. Jackie & my Sophie Last edited by MI Yorkielover; 10-18-2009 at 07:33 AM. |

| Kimbo loves Cheerios, but is restricted to 2 a day. I keep his Innova Puppy kibble handy for quick potty, training, and grooming treats. |

| I bake mine treats once a month. I make cheddar treats, peanut butter treats, and Dog breath treats. I try to avoid the store bought ones b/c of the preservatives and sugar. This past Christmas I did get them a jar of Three Dog Bakery treats and they were wholesome and they loved them so I have 4 jars of it. I gave baggies of the treats with my puppies since they enjoyed them as well. Those are about the only treats I bought.

Frozen Green Beans (she likes the crunch) 4. Roasted turkey breast 5. Yogurt Drops 6. Frozen droplets of pumpkin (canned, dropped on wax paper, frozen) 7. Duck Jerkey 8. Dehydrated Sweet Potatoe |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | So many treats are big & hard. I only give Roxy treats that I can easily break into tiny pieces by hand. Dehydrated chicken, Wellness soft treats. Yorkie tummies are so small, that it doesn't take much to fill them up, so her treats are very small. I'd rather she gets hungry for her main diet. She also likes apples, carrots & green beans.
