| Can anybody help me find out Is my Bella Boo a Yorkshire Terrier or a Silky Terrier???? Doesn't really matter, she's cute as can be, but I'm trying to settle a dispute between two of my friends, and I really don't know for sure, because she's a rescue. She's just over 9 lbs, and is longer than she is taller, but none of that really means anything, and when I look at pictures comparing the two, I can't tell the difference. I do have pictures in my photo album : )

| My guess would be Yorkie. Bella appears to have a longer snoot but the picture was taken very close so that could be the reason it appears longer, however, she looks all YOrkie to me. I also thought the samething when I first got Buddy. He was bigger, longer and taller but he's all Yorkie. Looks like you just have a Teapot, which is what YT calls the larger Yorkies. Bella is adorable. Welcome, |

| Looks like a Yorkie to me. This argument always comes up when they are a little bigger. I once had a woman stop me in Petsmart with Barkley her 5 lber that she was so proud to tell me was from Petland . I told her how cute he was and she told me that Pebbles was a Silkie and didn't meet Standard. Rudest woman on to heals~a kind word never even left her lips! That was almost 3 years ago and Pebbles was a little puppy. She is AKC registered and a rehome from my friend. I was not quite as well informed as I am now otherwise I would have really set her straight. I just walked away feeling like a great big turd Knowing more background that you have shared and the situation that she came from I highly bout that she is a Silkie based on that alone.

| Thanks! One friend says Bella is a carbon copy of her mom's Yorkie from when she was little, but the other one says she's way too big and long. I think she's cute as can be just the way she is, plus I have a 7 yr old son, so being "big boned" is a good thing! I'm think I would be terrified if he was holding a tiny, but Bella's just the right size for him. I wish I would have taken a before picture of her, with all the mats she was twice as wide, my husband said there was no way "that" was a Yorkie. Should've seen the look on his face after the groomer!

| People tell me ALL the time Jackson is a Silky. He may/may not be, who knows! I love him for what he is. He's 12.5lbs. Sometimes I think he's a Silky but then I see pictures of Yorkies and think he looks like a Yorkie!

| So what is the different between a big yorkie and a silky? I have a 13 lb yorkie that looks also like a silky. So what is the difference between a big yorkie and a silky? Does the silky have a longer body and narrower face or nose? When I pull up pics of a silky I feel like I am looking at my yorkie. So experts what is the difference????? Oni is posted in picures and album with his little brother (not the same parents) who is 5 lbs. When I get home will post pics later. |
