Senior Yorkie Talker | Help! Bella pees EVERYWHERE! Ok so Bella is going to be 7 months this month. Let me back track a bit... We just moved so at our old place Bella got the hang of things my going to pee on her bad and we hardly had any accidents, she was even allowed to roam the house. However, while we were training her she was in her little gated off area. Well since we moved I had to move her pad a few times, but finally found a designated spot for her. We don't have any carpet, so that is a plus. Bella used to sleep in the bed with us and she wouldn't get up at all to go potty during the night. She is not allowed to jump off my bed because it is too high for her. So out of the blue, no routines had changed, I would wake up to hear her playing on the floor with Lucky! So this means she jumped off the bed. This happened twice so I started making her sleep in her crate in her gated area and then I would put a blanket over the crate. Well, now I'm washing her bed everyday because she pees and poops in it! I'm frustrated now. I hear her bark in the middle of the night so I run to her crate to catch her before she goes, but it's like she is calling me to come clean it up cuz she doesn't want to sleep in that filth! I tried leaving the crate open so that she can access her pad but I either wake up to the fact that she's jumped out of her gated area or she completely misses the pad and goes right in front of the gate! Every time! I would put a pad where she usually goes but since it is right in front of the gate I know she will step all over the poop and pee while she tries to jump the gate. She tries to get out all the time, in fact she actually does get out All the time and when I get home I see her running back to the gate and crawls up it because she knows it upsets me. The reason why it upsets me is because I always find pee and poop somewhere! I started letting her just roam the house but I would close all the bedroom and bathroom doors possible. I would also remove the gate to her little area to increase any possible chances of her going to her pad to pee. Sometimes she does really well and pees on her pad, but for the most part nope! She knows where her pad is, so why is it that she always pees or poops 2 paws away from her pad? I need help I don't get it. When I see her messes all I have to do is let out a gasp or sigh and she lowers her head and tries to hide in the corner of her crate with her back towards me. So I know she has to know she is doing something bad. I thought dogs weren't suppossed to mess where they sleep? She has no problem. One night I tried to wait for her to potty before I put her in her crate, we literally were there for 2 hours! I was told not to give in, but after 2 hours I had to. I was was tired she was falling asleep while sitting on the pad. It was ridiculous!!! Any ideas please! I need help! I'm to the point of tears now and all I want to do is love her. |

| You just moved. This is a major change in routine for our little ones She will get used to it, but I'm sure the move and a new house is what has her backtracking in her training. Also, she slept with you every night, and you changed that also,.. another change along with the new home.. more stress. Pick a routine, stick with it, praise her praise her praise her, when she goes where you want her to go! Be consistent, patient and it will get better. I know that it doesn't seem that way now, but a move to a new home can be a very high stresser on a dog

YorkieTalk Newbie! | Try Purchasing a set of steps for her so she can sleep with you? It works with my 7. Hi I feel your frustration! I bought a set of sets from Petco that is high enough for our bed and it has made our life a lot better.. Bella may be acting out because you have no longer allow her to sleep with you. The stairs have made me a less stressed Mommy! Quote:

| There are gates that have clear acrylic instead of lattice which makes it easy for the fluff butts to climb. I'd hate for her to injure her leg and end up with luxating patella or torn acl. When I was traning lexie I kept her sleeping crate inside of the exercise pen a few steps away from the crate was the pipi pad, this whole setup was placed on top of a thick clear plastic found at hobby lobby or joanns, so if she missed the pad, it was easy to clean up. Hope this helps. Stay consistent, she will come back around to doing things right.

| You could try buying Doggy Stairs for your bed! Then that way she can get off the bed to go to the bathroom without waking you up, or hurting herself! |

Senior Yorkie Talker | Thank you all for your advice, I will try everything. But I'm so frustrated because she just woke up from a nap and I knew she had to go pee so I told her to go to her pad and she went to her pad I sat down and she tried to come towards me and I sent her back to her pad. Well I sat down and looked at the computer, because if I watch her then she will not go at all, and all of a sudden Bella came running to me like she does when she want to show me she peed on her pad, and I praise her and everything, well I stand up to check it out and what do I find?! Pee 1 paw away from the pad! the puddle spread out that it was even able to touch the edge of the pad, so now it went under it. Geez! I'm so upset |
