| Instead of 8 wk old, how about 17 month old?? Hi everyone! I found someone who has a 17 month old YT. She is asking $450 for her. She tried to breed her, but the YT wouldn't have any part of it, so her sister got bred instead (cute pups, BTW). Anyways, the 17 month old didn't really want much to do with us because the breeder was in the room. This dog was sold to a man and his wife about 2 months ago and the dog bonded to the wife and not the man. The man was disappointed because the dog wouldn't bond with him, so he returned it. The breeder said she thought it was the man's fault. She said this because she knows him. The dog loves this breeder and demands constant attention from her and she doesn't have the time for this. So she is trying to find her another home. She agreed that we could return the dog if it doesn't bond with the DH and me. I feel the dog has been uprooted and is sort of punchy about being with someone new. Am I crazy for wanting to take this dog home to see if it adjusts well??? Has anyone out there been through this?? BTW.....the dogs stay in her grooming business (which is very nasty). I don't think she walks them and she sure doesn't clean up after them. I saw this dog pee on the floor, so I'm not sure we would be able to house train it. |

| This would be a difficult decision... I would have a hard time not rescuing this poor thing from the conditions she's living in. But you have to also consider you may have difficulties bonding and training her. In the end, it's your decision It's a hard one!

| Well IMO what have you got to lose?? If she doesn't bond then you do still have the option to return her. I would say go for it. I wouldn't be able to leave that baby in those horrible conditions. She deserves to have a good life. If you are patient she I bet she will be a wonderful little pet. Give this little girl a chance. Good luck and please keep us posted.

| It Is a hard decsion. I had a little girl that was rescued and she did not bond well with the fsmily as a whole. She was better with me but since I had others here she would stay at a distance. I have placed her in another home and she bonded with them. She is now a very happy little girl. Best thing I could have done for her. She was 7 yrs old at the time. I think it depends on the person and the amount of love she is shown. I t may take time but if she is given love and attention I bet you could earn her trust and devotion. Good luck. |

| No long road trips! Neither dog would have to endure the long road trip. I've decided against the 8 week old puppy and to find a more reputable breeder around my area. Thanks for everyone's input. You sound like a very caring and loving group or YT owners. |
