| Need a good idea/car So as you all know Peanut is very spoiled. He goes everywhere with me, I would say 99.9% of the time he is with me. You would think he would be use to the car, but he isnt. He is only happy if he is in the front seat with me in my lap! He doesnt just sit there either, he HAS to look out of the window, and sometimes he will jump over to the passinger side too! If I put him in the back seat he will just pant and shake, I tried putting his bed back there and everything... I dont know what to do I am so worried if I get in a crash or something GOD FORBID something happens to him. Where do you put your furbabies in the car? I need something where peanut can be by me and look out of the window... or he wont be happy and of course something safe.

| I'm eager to hear any suggestions as well. Sophie absolutely loves to ride in the dar, but climbs up on the back of my neck and lies there so that she can see where she's going! Drove through window attendants at the bank/pharmacy love it, but I know it's not safe! Looking forward to suggestions! |

| I've seen dog car seats that strap onto the passenger seat, are elevated and have mesh around them kinda like a playpen. It would be good to have him attached by harness so he wouldn't jump out. I have a similar problem, but have 4 dogs in the car, and 2 of them insist on being on my lap. I know it is dangerous for them and me, and I don't take them a lot, but when I do, I have to find a safer solution. I'll be watching for replies here too.

| We have the Snoozer car seat. I am posting a link below to show you what it looks like, there are several different options/models but will give you an idea of what they look like. Cooper LOVES to ride in the car, but he wants to fly back and forth between the front and back seats, he is a wild man in the car. Everytime we go to the vet she tells us of another sad story of Yorkie's dying in car fender benders/someone slams on there breaks not even a wreck and the poor baby goes flying causing head trauma. Based on that we spent the money and got the snoozer bed so he could look out. I tried some of the cheaper ones at pets mart that look like a leather carrier/pouch that they set in and did NOT like those at all. The snoozer is very safe, you seat belt it in like a baby seat. For Cooper to get used to it, I bring it in and left it by the fireplace in our living room with a treat in it like a new bed. After he had slept in it a couple of times that is when I put it in the car for him to ride in. Would he rather be in it? No, he would rather be flying around barking at everything back and front seat, but he does NOT hate it....and I no longer worry about taking him with me and something happening. Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | Morgan is always hooked into her carrier when she's in the car. it doesn't matter if she wants to be in my lap or look out the window. its not safe. she is safe her in carrier so that's where she stays. there are car seats you can purchase that attach to the console or passenger seat. these have straps you can attach to their collar/harness as well so they have to stay in them

| I've got a Snoozer II Lookout. Sophie LOVES it. It comes with a strap that can also hook to a harness so they'll be safe. I actually don't strap her in because she's more comfortable. I know, I know. I'm a BAD mommy! But seriously, she has been soooo much better since I got that. She stays in the front seat and I put the AC on her so she'll get some air. |

| Cooper is 5-5 1/2 lbs and we did NOT get the small. I honestly cant remember if ours is a med or how they run but it takes up my front seat which is fine with me since I dont allow my daughter to ride up front due to an airbag. This is what ours looks like. Snoozer Green My Buddy Lookout at PETCO

| this post kinda makes me laugh b/c of all the "talks" my dear boyfriend and i had when we got our yorkie Sophie. First of all he did a ton of research on car seats for her.....bought one and she wouldn't stay in it. So we tried a pen, like what she sleeps in only smaller for her to travel in. it is strapped in the middle of the backseat (that was the "rules" i was given: it must stay in the backseat and be anchored with the seat belt) of my suv and she can still see out and be comfortable and cant squirm her way out. but this is a serious issue b/c i would hate to see her hurt in an accident. so i hope this helps you. |

| I have a car seat for Harley that is made by Pet Gear. From what I can tell it is made very similiar to the Snoozer brand (have only seen them online), but I like the way that the seatbelt goes through the bottom rather than the top and the price being lower is a bonus too. I have the medium and it only has one guide to attach a harness to. It is a nice size, pretty well takes up an entire captains chair! Harley loves it and I feel much better knowing that he is secured. Oh and if you don't mind a patterned cover you can get a heated version too! | Car Seat suggestion? The links that were posted were awesome. Does anyone know where I can find one that is used on the console or hanging on the seat? (like the skybox on petgear) If it's just me and Sasha, she can be put on the seat, but if it's the whole family, she would be put on the console. |

| I can't find a skybox made by petgear so I'm not exactly sure that you are talking about. I'm assuming that the seats that are designed to attach to a headrest would be too square to use on a console, so I'm not sure that you could find one that you could use both ways. If you are limited on your space I would just go ahead and get the console one that way your baby would always be close! If I had two babies, I would have to get two seats because there is no way that a double would fit on my seats and can't imagine putting my babies on the third row! Just remember like a human baby in a car seat your furbaby can be injured by the airbag! Jeri and Harley |
