| Reaction or lump at shot site? So I was just petting Matise and I felt this little lump on the back of his neck next to his shoulder. It is soft and moves and it is where he has had shots before. Matise is only 1 year old, he is too young for these little bumps already. Alex, my dog who was 12 had these but I just associated it with old age. So why does Matise have this he is only 1 yr. old? So I am wondering is this lump a reaction from a shot he has gotten in the past? Have any of your guys gotten this before? What did you do about it? Did it go away? What did the vet say? Sorry I am wiggin a little.. I just want him to be perfect. you know.

| Kobe, my oldest shihtzu, gets lumps after he gets shots. The first time was his first rabie shot and it scaried me to death. I called the vet, and they assured me it was from the shot and would go away. Sure enough, it did. Joan |

It has been more than a couple of months since the last time he got a shot. Will it ever go away? Do some never go away? Are they bad? Do they cause problems in the future? Are there certain vaccinations he should not get. His vacs are due in January, should I request only certain shots and not allow others?

| Mia got them after her shots - they lasted for months. Last time the vet divided her dose in 2 spots and it was much better. |

| My vet thinks those lumps are the dog's body rejecting the vaccine. They encase it and try to keep it from going into the body. It is nothing to worry about really if it from a vaccination but I would note it in his health history an consider it a "reaction" to the vaccine. If it is not from the vaccine then you may want to have it checked further. |
