| Ear Hair Trimming Help I was hoping to get some advice on how to trim my Bella's ear hair. Right now one ear is standing and the other is halfway up. I know that it needs to be cut short in order to help the ears stand and her hair is pretty long. She is 13 weeks old. What is the best way to do it? She is my first Yorkie so this is all new to me. Thanks in advance!! |

| When using scissors, I hold the edge of the ear between my finger and thumb at all times and having a bright light behind the ear can help illuminate the edge to avoid injury.

| Yorkie ear trimming I have never trimmed Zeke ears, and I will not let the groomer trim them either. He had one up and one down for a long time, but once he got done teething they both stood up. I love them with all the long hair on them. The ears will possibly be up and down until after all teething is overwith. |

| I use a small trimmer-to avoid accidently hurting my yorkie-you cut a v shape on the back of the ear--and trim the sides close to the ear itself. it's really easy with a clipper! |

| You can get a wahl moustache trimmer (I think I paid $12 at Walmarts). It's like mini clippers. Just use that to trim the ears. I usually just trim the top third but if the ears still aren't coming up, you might want to trim the entire ear. The trimmers are really easy to use but sometimes they are a little freaked out about the sound at first. Good luck! |

| Thank you for all the advice. Her ear finally stood up last week so I decided I won't trim her ear hair. Yay, I was nervous about cutting it anyways. Thanks again.
