| Want some info on AKC Does anyone know about the program the AKC is doing that will paper your dog from another registry if they do research and find that the pedigree has had AKC dogs registered in the background? Administrative Research Registration Has anyone done it? I have a female that I bought from someone who got the dog from her Aunt. The Aunt bought the female but the breeder wanted $200 more for the AKC papers, so the woman refused to pay it and registered the dog with another registry. I have found out that if the AKC accepts her and papers her, that I can register her puppies with the AKC. The father is AKC and I double registered him to register the puppies. Anyone know how this program works? What I need to do? How much it costs? I get very cryptic answers from the AKC when I ask questions and they just won't give me an idea of the average price range. | I'm guessing she registered the dog with the Continental Kennel Club? If that's the case, AKC won't accept those papers. |

| I don't know much but I am assuming she didn't sell the AKC papers with the female because she doesn't have full breeding rights. Usually they charge more for the rights/papers. Maybe someone else may have a better idea. I would imagine if this is the case you can't register the litter because technically you wouldn't have the right too. |

It is my understanding, from what I was told by the neice, that the Aunt bought the dog as a puppy and raised her. Breeder to Aunt, Aunt to neice, neice to me. The Aunt registered her with the CKC. It's possible the breeder wasn't the most reputable person to get a dog from. Sylvia | |

| I emailed AKC about this as well. They sent me how to do it and everything. If you want I can PM you with a copy of the email they sent me. |
