| Luxating Patella Callie has Luxating Patella grade 2 in one back leg and grade 3 in the other back leg. I have synovg3 that the vet gave me to give her but i was wondering if anyone who has experience with this could give me any advise or tell me things that would help her. She still loves to run and play but not as much as she used and when she walks sometimes I can hear the pop/crack noise and it kills me thinking shes in pain but she never crys out or acts like it hurts. Does it? Is there anything else I can do for her? Shes 2 and she is a teapot about 15 pounds and shes not fat so shes not overweight although the vet suggests she loses 2 pounds. I am new at this and I have read some about it but if anyone has suggestions advice or anything about this please please share with me. Thanks.

| You can search "luxating patella" on this forum and get a weatlh of information. Uni has been diagnosed with grade 3 in both her knees. We have so far elected not to do surgery, but are giving Cosequin, a glucossamine supplement. She is doing well, no more cracking knees.

| My poodle was taking Synovg3 after she blew out her knee and needed surgery. (She jumped from a bed and that was it) It worked wonders and we did put her on a very strick diet to lose 3 lbs. It's been four years and she's doing well. Taking the weight off is a big factor along with a regular fitness program (a simple walk for her) to strengthen the ligaments around the knee. My Great Pyrenees is bo-legged and his knee will pop out when he's excited and moving to fast. The surgeon told us to watch his weight, get a regular exercise program for him, give him glucossamine and fish oil daily and see how he does without surgery. It's been almost a year since and he's doing great! Hardly pops the knee out at all.
