| Best piece of advise given to you when you got your new puppy :I was at a baby shower this weekend and they had everyone write down on a piece of paper the single best piece of advise you were given as a mom on your new baby so the new mom would have it for future reference.....As most of you know I am getting a new baby girl in a few weeks and even though I got Cooper as a baby you forget soooo much, you forget about the baby stuff.....so thought I would ask what is the best piece of advise you want to share on bringing home a new yorkie baby? Mine would be to put a bell on there harness so you know where they are at all times, you can call there name and here the jingle BEFORE you get up since sometimes they are so small/hard to see.

| This is going to sound really stupid. I had a Yorkie for 13 years and never knew about puppy pads, the crate and the xpen setup for potty training. With Ginger, these 3 things have been great!!!! She is trained to go outside but uses the pads as backup and when she was too small to hold it. Sure has made life easier! The xpen has been great for potty training and now when you wants to nap, she goes to the xpen to be put in. It's her "safe" place away from the rest of the family. Sometimes she just wants some down time. Especially with a 4 year old skin kid chasing her around. LOL! And my most favorite thing, EVER, this time around ...... YORKIETALK.com!!!! I have learned so much. It's crazy how much I didn't know. Thank you so much to everyone for the knowledge!!!!!!

| Do not leave your baby unattended when you go out. Put him/her in their crate or X-pen. It is so easy for these little guys to chew something they shouldn't or choke or whatever. Give yourself peace of mind and keep them contained so you come home to a healthy puppy.

| My advise is don't let the puppy on the couch. We had Bijou for four days when she fell off the couch and broke her little leg Oh, and keep Nutri Cal on hand.

| Dont freak out if you panic every time they jump of the couch and try to go down the stairs they will never learn to be independant (not saying not to be careful and watch very very carefully ) OH and get a fully adjustable velcro harness they save so much time i suggest Mesh Harness Product i know that is big but it comes from moochie and co and fit gatsby at less then two pounds and fits him still at almost six
