| Sooooooooo excited!!!!! After researching the Yorkshire Terrier breed for many months and finally finding a breeder I'm comfortable with (who also happens to be a YT member), I finally did it... I'm getting a new furbaby!!!!! Although I have quite a while before he comes home. I have loads of time to think of names and buy supplies. Any advice offered will be greatly appreciated. |

| I'm getting him from Southeast Texas Yorkies. I have printed out everything on here about the caring for a yorkie and have been studying it like my bible. |

| Southeast Texas Yorkies - Yorkie Puppies for Sale Since they don't show Yorkies, and have at least 8 breeding females, I'd strongly suggest you go to the home and see her set up. This is a major back yard breeder, and they are in it only for the money, regardless of what they post on their site. Please, don't make the mistake that so many other YTers have made and end up with a puppy with continual health problems and either no contract or a flimsy one. Ask one of the ladies who actually breed and show Yorkies about what avenue's you should take. Mardelin, here on YT would be an excellent source of information.

I have never read of any problems with people who have purchased her puppies and several YT members have written that they have. Besides not showing, what complaint do you have against SET Yorkies? Have you been to her home? I saw several good things on her site -- her contract for instance. Most breeders only offer refund or replacement, she goes an extra step and also offers to split vet fees if someone decides to keep a puppy with health problems. She also insists on spay/neuter unless the pup is sold as a show potential. She has lots of information for new owners, provides boarding, daycare, and even provides grooming at a fraction of the cost most charge. I do not know her or her set up, but would like to read more info to back such harsh judgement. Do you know first hand or just going on the site? I am very curious as I had not read anything negative about this breeder before.

I knew it was a matter of time before the ignorance began to hit Kirista. I want to type a really long post but will not in the essence that I know Kirista will not entertain such foolishness. Here are the facts. 1. I was the first from YT to obtain my yorkie from her and our furbaby has never had an issue or been sick. She is beautiful, wonderful and smart. 2. Why would a woman who's husband is in law enforcement have a substandard contract? As for producing yorkies just as pets, is it not true that very rarely is there a show standard puppy in a litter considering litters are so small? 3. Our friends have purchased from Kirista with no issues or problems. 4. Friends have been to her Kennel and did not see any issues or "red flags." She does have a farm you know? Oh wait...you didn't because you assumed much of what was posted. Did you also know she assists the local vet with animals? 5. If you have concerns or issues, she will discuss with you and work it out so that you are happy - end of discussion.

| SET Yorkies is wonderful!! I bought a female from them in June and she is perfect!! I talked to my vet about alot of breeders and also visited quite a few kennels before finding SET Yorkies. My vet had nothing but wonderful things to say about Elle, my puppy. Kirsta worked with Elle on basic training and she was 95% potty trained when I took her home. Everytime I went to visit Elle before taking her home the kennel was very clean and Kirsta went above and beyond to make sure Elle and I had everything we needed. She is extremely knowledgable and I feel comfortable calling her anytime I have a question. If you would like to talk more about SET Yorkies, please message me your number and I'll be glad to call you and talk about my experience. I will never buy a puppy anywhere else! |

| How exciting for you!! Shopping, planning, preparing it's all so much fun and so much to think about. Boy or Girl? Ohhh, I miss puppy breath. My youngest is 13 months old and although he still my baby, doesn't have that sweet puppy breath any more. I'm sure you have everything well in hand, my only advice would be to work real hard and resist buy too many clothes at first as your puppy will out grow them fast. I bought just a few items for Gracie Ruth at first. It was really, really hard, but I'm glad I didn't spend a lot of money on items she could only wear for a month or so. Can't wait to see pictures and hear all about him/her.

| How exciting for you! You can learn so much here on YorkieTalk. Thank you for being so careful about knowing the breed and researching before you get one of these treasured little ones. You will be so glad you did, but they are not for everyone. When will you be getting your little guy? I can not wait to see pictures and find out what you name him!
