| Leaving my baby home alone for hours???? Hi... I've always noticed that when I leave my yorkie home alone.. even just for a little bit... when i get home he is so excited to see me he whimpers, his ears lay back and he even shakes and jumps all over the place and doesn't relax until i pick him up and hold him then he just kisses me and loves me and slowly calms down to normal...... So when possible I always take him with me, which i never mind doing. I actually really enjoy his company. Well recently my father in law was diagnosed with cancer and for the last 2 days i've had to leave him home alone for hours... the first day was just for a few hours.... but yesterday was pretty much all day long... He is soooooo excited when we get home he even did a complete back flip one time when we opened the door...... I couldn't believe my eyes... Anyways... my question is, how much stress and anxiety may he be going through while were gone.. It really worries me. I do have 2 cats too that I try to make sure are in the house with him, but that doesnt' really seem to make a difference.. any comments and experiences are much appreciated. Thanks! |

♥Tiny Tia my Furbaby♥ Donating Member | If you have to leave him make sure some food is left for him so his sugar levels don't drop and of course plenty of fresh water. If you have a crisis it can't be helped unless someone can keep him company.

| for his sugar level not to drop i case if his sugar level drop you can also leave his bowl of water mix like sugar water but i also heard that it works good leave some of you dirty clothes with him so he can sense your scence and feel that you are there..

| Hi.. I totally agree and that's the way I look at it. I just wondered if the stress and anxiety could be health hazardous bad?? I know I'm going to have to be leaving him much more in the near future, so it concerned me a little. I make sure to leave plenty of food and water out for him everytime I know I'll be gone for a while. . Thanks for the tip on the blood sugar. |
