| new to yorkie talk Hey everyone I am new to this site but from what I have seen you all seem very friendly. I will become a first time yokie mom this summer. One of the reasons I joined this site is to maybe get some help in choosing a good and trusting breeder. I live in Illinois and was wondering if any of you know any breeders in my area. Thank you so much, sue |

| Here's a beginning for you. Illinois has many breeders listed on the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America site. You still need to check out each breeder as the club doesn't guarantee the breeder. http://www.ytca.org/breeder3.html#IL Welcome to our friendly community! Post some pics of your furbaby when you have the chance.

| Welcome to Yorkie Talk! Good luck on your puppy search The link Lisa suggested is a great place to start. You may also want to look into going to some dog shows in your area and speaking with some breeders there. They usually have wonderful recommendations and advice. We have some great breeders here as well. Just make sure you don't talk to them until AFTER they're done showing their dogs -- also if you check with your local vet's office sometimes they have more information than you would believe. Hope this is somewhat helpful!

| When I had time to look through the list of breeders, the one that stands out the most is Rothby's. Many, many breeders boast that their dams/sires are of Rothby bloodline. Their yorkies are gorgeous!

| Welcome ssguzzy828 ! You have been given great advise so far. I wish you the best in findind the breeder you trust and will be turning to for advise and to give updates on your newly adopted baby. (of course we hope you share your same experiences with us here at Yorkie Talk). While you wait for Summer to arrive in anticipation of your new one, gather as many books as you can on Yorkies and training. This is such an exciting time for you and nervous too. Take your time in all your research and learning and it will be so much worth your time. I hope you let us know when you receive your new furbaby and to share your stories/questions/pictures with us.
