| So nervious, don't know what to do????? Well, Dudley is 6mo. old today. He is still just alittle over 2lbs. We need to have him fixed and I am scared to death. He is sooooo little. My husband was taking the trash out last night and when he came back in he shut the door and came in the kitchen. I asked him where was Dudley and he said with Kayla he thought. I heard him barking and Kayla was standing at the front door. My heart sank because I thought, oh my gosh, he let him out. I opened the door and he was standing between the door and glass door. That is how tiny this little guy is. Thank God he was okay. We didn't know he was going to be this little and I told my husband he was going to have to watch the doors constantly. He could have killed him if he had of shut the main door on him. Thats the reason I am afraid of the surgery because this baby is so itty bitty. I don't want to wait to long because I sure don't want him to start marking. What would you do????? THe vet seems fine with it. |

| I know you will be nervous but he will be fine Just make sure the vet has experience with the little ones and uses the correct anesthesia, etc. Many, many people have had their little Yorkies spayed/neutered and everything was fine. Over 2lbs is a good weight! If it would make you feel a little better, waiting one more month probably won't change anything. Jackson was nearly 7 mo. old when neutered.

| Peanut was 4 months and he was about a little over 2lbs as well..So I think if you really love this Vet and you are comfortable with knowing that he is a good vet and he has a good staff!! Thats another important thing to know!! If you want ask your vet about the tech's. Ask them about the girl that will be assiting the Dr in his sx. Bc she is the helper, if something does go wrong they are the ones that need to KNOW what they are doing Ask if they are certified vet tech's? I'm not saying that only certified vet techs are good, but there is a difference in being exp in that and just knowing... I don't think they will mind you asking.. I have worked in a couple Vet's and each was different in how they do things.. Some had a certian girl that was the Dr assistant for that day, and some had two girls, some vet's just picked out of the techs that werent busy its good to know these things, besides its YOUR baby and if they are good vet they will talk to you with NO problem. If you really dont feel comfortable than wait a month..see if he gains a little more weight.. it wont hurt him to wait.

| If he were mine, I'd wait till he was 8 to 12 months. What ever you decide, I'm sure he will be fine. All of us here that have taken our babies in for a spay or neuter have gone through the exact same fear, so your in good company.

| Took Kayla in yesterday for her yearly check-up and talked to my vet about Dudley. She has cancer and has just been working part time. She is a great vet and if she is not up to doing the surgery that was another concern because I trust her so much. There are 3 vets there in the office. I have gone there for years but the thing with her and then Dudley being so little. She told me yesterday though, that it would not hurt to wait until he is 7 to 9 mo. old. What can I say, I'm just a nut when it comes to my babies. Here he is a little rat and Kayla, I found out yesterday is 2lbs. over weight. |
