| Imagine that... I NEVER thought I would be considering this but I think that Gracie needs a sissy!! I am not certain yet. Part of me wonders if I can love another as much but hey I have three kids and I love ALL of them! Anyway I really think that instead of another Yorkie-as much as I love her that I want a Maltese. Any thoughts? Female vs. Male? Maltese vs. Yorkie? Does it make a difference with males if they are neutered at 8 weeks with marking etc.? Give it to me! I really want to hear opinions to help me sort this out. |

| Well since I have three, I absolutely think Gracie needs a sibling. But you may want to consider a boy as the chances of there being a conflict is less. There are many that have all girls or all boys and do just fine. And some who have one of each and have problems. But I think as a rule, and we all know there are exceptions to every rule, that boy/girl combo's work best. As for the Maltese as a second choice, I think Yorkies get along with pretty much all other dogs, so you picking another breed is fine as long as they are also a small breed and you do your research and know about the temperments and any health issues that breed may have. Good luck in your search and I can't wait to see Gracie's new sibling!!

| I have 6, so my thoughts would be to get her a sibling! My second choice, if there were no yorkies would be a maltese, they are beautiful too!

| Honestly...think it over really really well.. 98% of the time it works out well..the other 2 % it doesn't.. I know it happened to me and another yt'er. Gracie is your only furbutt?? From my exp and this is just ME I am not talking about anyone else...I think you should hear all sides to this the good and the bad... I tried it, it didn't work out for me...long story but Peanut is the only one for me! I thought he would love a girlfriend but he didn't it made things worse.. And I had trouble sharing my love with another.. I love the fact that Peanuts gets all my attention. So I hope if you do get another furbaby it works for you. I know for it to work you have to want it to work...I think it's always hard when you come from having 1 yorkie to adding another.. I think it is hard for us to get use to sharing the love...well at least I do. So just think about it and think about Gracie..and you will know what the right choice is for your family!! Best of luck!! Let us know what you do
