| Puppy Bath?? So Teeko is doing really well, but last night had a little accident. She pooped in her crate and a lot of it got stuck to her lovely coat (the poop was a little bit runny). Is it ok to bath a puppy at just over 9 weeks? If so, can anyone advise me the best way to go about this. I'm terrified of putting the little devil into the water. What temperature should it be? What kind of shampoo etc? I don't want to traumatise her - but can't have her smelling of poop either Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to bath her until I know it's ok to do so. Cheers! J xxx |

YT Graphic Artist Donating Member | It's perfectly fine to bathe her. Water should be about room temp - not too cold, and not too hot. You could do it in the sink or bathtub - whatever is easier for you. Use puppy shampoo (not human shampoo). Just run a little water - sit her in it, and let the water fill around her. It's less traumatizing then just dropping her in.

| You are smart for asking. I think I got the water too hot on Molly's first bath, and she absolutely hates it. She shakes all the way to the tub when she knows it's bath time. Just try not to stress about it. Take all of the precautions, then go at it like it's an everyday thing. They pick up on your stress so well. I've learned that the hard way!! |
