| Paper Shredder So my baby girl is 1 1/2 years old this month. She was the best puppy when she was younger. She did not tear things up never chewed on anything. I thought I was really lucky and wasn't going to have to deal with the whole shredding stage. BOY WAS I WRONG!!! at about 10/11 months she started tearing stuff up. I thought maybe she just started the stage late. but she is still chewing up everything. Paper towels, papers, MONEY, anything that tears. Its sad when I come home and somehow she found a dollar bill and it was all over the floor. :-( What I am asking is what should I do. She has plenty of toys and bones all over the place. I can never find them but if she gets one taken away she runs off and comes back with another toy. She has another Yorkie(her mom) to play with during the day so I know she is not bored but I do not know what is going on. It also isn't just when I am gone. I will be sitting on the couch reading or watching tv and I will look down and she will be tearing up papers. We have to be careful with what is in her reach because she is very adventerous and will get on the coffee table to get what she wants. She has torn up my boyfriends school papers(haha the dog really did eat the homework). I do not want to have to crate her because sometimes we are gone all day. I am usually gone 7-5 depending on the day and my boyfriend doesn't get up until 12 to get ready for school in which he is gone till 830. I do not want them to be in a crate most of their day because that is no fun but I do not know how to keep her from tearing up stuff. HELP!

| Maybe get a playpen with washable pads, I use the disposable one, but I have read that people use the washable pads for the pups who shred stuff, make sure has water, food and a safe toy, I think taking your furbaby for a a walk daily will be drain some of that energy

| I have no advice but need advice to this problem myself. Kiki will shred any kind of paper she can get. We call her are goat By the way I'm home with her all day. When she gets a hold of a piece of paper she goes crazy growling and bitting at me if I try to get it from her. Just crazy.

| Paper is a hard one ... it's so much fun! Tink goes after plastic bottles when I step on them to recycle, and she'll fight me for them! As this was becoming dangerous to my feet and hands, I started telling her 'NO' whenever she approached me in the act. Or I did it when she was in another room so I had time to pick up the bottle before she reached me. She still tries occasionally to help with the recyclables, but most the time she ignores it now. Much easier to live with! I think with paper, tell her 'no' but have a leash handy to put on her, so she can't leave the scene of the crime and to help with discipline. Also I would put as much paper out of her reach as I could. I know with mine if I act serious about something they do that displeases me and I have a zero tolerance, it doesn't take them long to catch on, cause they like their Mommy happy!

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Baxter doesn't tear up paper. Bayleigh on the other hand....she would chose a paper towel over ALL of her cute toys I have bought her. lol This has just started over the past 2 weeks. She is now 17 weeks and I am thinking I need the washable pads (ofcourse after I just bought a 600 count case). UGH! Good luck, I have been trying everything. I think the play pen is next!! She stays in a crate while I am gone & by the time I get back, it is torn to shreds. HAHA |

| Conner would get a napkin or a piece of paper and show it to me because he knew I would chase him to get it. I keep all paper off the floor, but sometimes my nieces and nephew leave a paper on the floor or someone will drop a napkin. Conner is right there to pick it up. He just tears it up and does not eat it, so I don't worry about it. Just go and pick up after him. He does not use pee pads (goes outside), but he did tear them up.

| Samantha is 6 years and she STILL loves a kleenex! Preferably used. She will even go into the waste paper baskets. I now buy trash containers with her fetish in mind and the small one in the bathroom lives on the counter. LOL Fortunately, she is very neat and shreds in a small pile in one place. |

| i have no idea what to do with them. She doesnt tear up the disposible puppy pads because I was using them on the floor to help with potty training. She doesnt eat the things she tears up either so thats a good thing but my house always looks messy. She is really starting to act up. If I am cleaning the house and I have a bag of trash waiting to take it out she will get into it and tear the bag. She used to be so well behaved and now she is getting annoryer (sorry i have NO idea how to spell that). I think I spoil her to much. She gets away with almost everything, They both do. Her mom will only tear up stuff when they are playing tug-a-war with things. She doesnt play with toys on a normal basis only play tug-a-war with the baby. They get walked multiple times a day to go outside and go potty. They play like crazy in the house when they play fight. With how crazy piper is you would thing she would always be tired but that is not the case.
