| On the mend.......hopefully Ruby had surgery yesterday to remove the soft tissue mass on her right shoulder. The surgery went well but we had issues last night with bleeding. Just walking around was causing it to bleed to the point that it was running down her leg. And even though she was wearing a soft collar it wasn't keeping her from scratching it. So we went back to the vet this morning. It was swollen to the point that the stitches were pulling and the vet said because it was in a high movement area it was bleeding more than usual. She put an ice pack on it and then wrapped it for pressure and to keep her from scratching it. We go back Friday and hopefully the biopsy results will be back by then. Ruby and I need some good news. Things can only get better. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Poor girl...I hope there is good news coming. What about putting a onesie on her or a little t-shirt...do you think that would help? Also, one of the members here sells soft collars, don't know if that would work for you or not...

| Thanks for the ideas. The vet pressure wrapped it and then I put a t-shirt on over that and she still bled through. And, believe it or not, she has a soft collar on also. Poor baby! We went back to the vet for a second time this after(an hour trip one way) and this time she was able to drain the blood pocket and she pressure wrapped it again so I'm praying it will work this time. |
