Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Need ideas on how to keep Niyah busy Niyah is my first Yorkie. I got her last month as you all know by now. She is 2 years old. She just loves to sit in my lap or lay down beside me on the couch when I am watching TV which I will be doing a lot now that Football season has started. Out day so far consists of getting up in the morning, first thing we do is go outside to potty and then I feed her breakfast. As she is gulping down her favorite food in 3 bites (Nature's Variety), I turn the TV on and catch some shows I taped on my DVR. When she is finished she puts her paws up on the couch to let me know that she wants up so she is now trained to turn a certain way so I can pick her up easily with one hand.. We lay there for a while and then Blinker, one of my Sphynx cats comes down for breakfast and Niyah notices her right away and she gets down off the couch by herself with no problem and barks at the cat trying to get the cat to play chase. But the cat doesn't like to play chase so Niyah continues to bark at her. After a while she gives up and comes back to me. Sometime during the day after going potty several times aday, we play with this tiny cat pillow becaued it is her size. They she gets borde with that. We watch more TV until it gets cooler outside in the late afternoon and then we go for a walk which is her favorite thing to do. Let me tell you, if it is a cool day out, she can walked a very long way but if it is still too hot for her, she walks a short distance and then I pick up my poor baby and carry her the rest of the way home. Once we are back I sit down with her toy and she sometimes wants to play with it and sometimes she doesn't want to and just wants to sleep beside me on the couch watching TV. Then before we know it, bedtime is here and so I go on YorkieTalkd for an hour os so and then we head to bed. What other suggesstions do you have for entertaining Niyah, I like to also give her some independence

| I wish my baby would just sit on the couch and watch tv with me! Seems like she needs more toys. Even if she is laying on the couch get down on the floor and swoosh a toy on the ground to see if you can get her to play fetch. The only way I can get any TV time in during the day is if I'm throwing a toy across the room every 15 seconds! Take her for more short walks. Go to the pet store with her. Ever given her a bully stick? Those will keep Maddie busy for an hour! Get a dog trick book and teach her some new tricks. Good luck! |

I have searched for toys for Niyah but since she is only 3 pounds, she has the mouth of a cat so I have to buy toys that are for cats so it will fit in her mouth but I will see if those bully sticks come in smaller sizes. Can I find them at Petsmart and if I ask for bullly sticks, will they know what I am talking about? I am going to Walmart right now so I will check for more toys there. Niyah seems to be more of a lap baby than a player but I will try more toys. Thanks for the suggestions.

| I ordered my bully sticks from user AMD here on YT. Their website is: %TITLE_TAG% I got the 6 inch ones for Maddie. She is only 2 pounds so it takes her days to eat the whole thing. As far as toys go, some of Maddie's favorite toys are bigger than her! I would def. recommend ordering some bully sticks though. Maddie is actually chewing on hers right now Good luck |

| I keep Austin busy by hiding treats all over the house. Looking to give her independence..... there is this cube food toy thing. You fill it with food or treats and watch him kick it around until food falls out. Somedays I don't even put food in his bowl I just get the cube... It does come in a three different sizes so the small one should be OK for your little lady. She sounds like the perfect dog by the way. I would love it if I was allowed to watch some uninterrupted General Hospital around here….. |
