| My baby doesnt want to eat Hey All, So a week after I got Maxi I started to switch his food because he was on ProPac, which isnt really great food and I put him on Halo. He seemed to love and ate it up and we made the switch without any problems. Well fast forward to like a day and a half ago and all of a sudden Maxi doesnt want to eat his Halo anymore. I know that he is hungry because he stares at my food and begs. We gave him some wet food and he gobbled it up but then 30 mins later he threw up. He didnt eat for the rest of the day and finally I was at my wits end and gave him some cooked ground beef I made for dinner. He ate it up and begged for me. So today I give him some Halo for breakfast and he refused to eat it. I have some of his old food left and I gave him some of that and he ate it. I dont know what to do, the old food isnt good so I dont want him to eat it but I want him to eat. What should I do, sorry this is so long

| Boy they sure do figure out how to get you wrapped around their little paw very quickly Sounds like he's a junk food lover. My GP is the same way. I mix a little canned into his dry and he eats it, but put it down dry and he won't eat. Have you tried a little of the old food mixed in with the new food? He probably threw up the moist food because he ate too much or too fast. You could try giving him just a little mixed or with a small amount of canned food mixed in. Might help get him wanting to eat again. Also how many treats are you giving him? Sometimes we forget how small they are and don't realize how big the treats are too. Please, keep us posted on how he's doing.

| Thank you ladies. Acatually I did mix it and he would eat the old food and leave the new food. I dont wnat him to get used to the old food cause it has a lot of byproducts and high corn in it, so its not good for him. But I let him eat it because at least he was eating! In regard to the treats, i give him wellness puppy treats and he only gets a treat when he poops on the wee pad, which isnt that often lol

I don't know how big the treats are, but maybe cut them in half. And if it was me, I'd mix a little canned food in with it to get him eating the good stuff. Mine did the same thing, eating only the old food out of the mixed dry stuff. They sure are clever

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | my morgan is being a poop right now with eating. i think its because its so hot outside. So what i've had to do the past few days is sit on the floor with her and make it a game. I pick up some food in my hand and then wave it around, playing with her, making it seem like i have something great in my hand. Then i kinda slid it across the floor to make her go get it. the first few times she runs over to it all excited but then realizes its just her food and walks away. So i'll go over to it and pretend to eat it which of course gets her more interested. If all else fails, i'll lick a piece or two to get her to eat. Or, now this may sound gross, i spit on her food to get my scent and saliva in there. This makes her eat.
