| "Britches" for first heat? I think Lola is going into her first heat. She is constantly licking herself "down there" and she seems really swollen. I definitely need to get her "britches" to wear, as we live in the city and the last thing I want is a boy dog taking interest. Does anyone have any recommendations of what type has worked for you? I'm hoping I can find some at PetSmart/PetCo, but I've never looked before so am clueless about what they carry. She is quite small - only 2.8 lbs, which is what I'm worried about. I just hope they make them small enough so that she isn't uncomfortable. Thanks!

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | when morgan was a baby i asked someone to make her a diaper for accidents. Tiger's Mom made them and they were great. the diaper was used for picture purposes mainly and i put them on her after she was spayed. haha, i just went to Tiger's Mom's website go.fetch™ to check them out and Morgan's picture is still there as the poster child! On her website click on apparel (third on top), then undergarments (on left side), then Panty I (scroll down and there's Morgan hehehe). There is also a Panty II link with more cute things.

| We used newborn preemie diapers and just cut a small hole for her tail while she is in heat. We cover the diaper with "bloomers". The diapers keep the mess contained and the bloomers keep her fromtaking off the diaper and to look cute.

| Hello umm My teacup Kyrie, just came out of her first heat. The best thing to do is put towels on the couch if your baby spends time on the couch. They sell doggie diapers at like Wal-Mart, no need to buy "Britches". Dont worry your darlings heat will only last (at maximum) four days.

| I carry Fundies for the little girls. Here is the link. They are made and ready to go. FuFu Fashions Fundies, Doggie diapers, Dog Diapers I carry the XXS which is probably the size she will need. Heat generally last for 3 weeks. one week getting there, one week "bleeding" and one week coming out of it so you will want her protected the entire time so she doesn't accidentally get with a male. |

| Petsmart does carry them, and here, in Texas, they are $16.95 for the xsmall and then another $6.00 for the panty liners...I was about to get them, for when I take Apple out for her walk, and then I realized she usually pees two or three times on our 30 minute walk, so I thought, how's that gonna work So, my solution was to get pepper spray, in the event another dog approached her...I very seldom see stray dogs in the neighborhood, but, of course I can't take a chance...I hope I don't have to use it, but I've got it just in case...About the mess, I'm fortunate to have laminate floors and leather furniture, so that's not a problem to clean...pillows and blankets will just have to be washed as necessary...We're in day 3, and there seems to be very little blood, so I'm hoping it doesn't get much more...She, also, seems to be cleaning herself nicely...About her mood, she seems to be herself, and I haven't noticed anything different...Maybe it's because it's just her first heat... |
