| question(s) about dog clothes. I am in the process of getting my first yorkie and i am SO excited (: I was looking around at clothes, and I was wondering if I should get clothes for when my yorkie is a puppy, since it will be fall going on winter when i get her. If I should, should I get them before I bring her home> and what should her meausrements be so i can order appropriately. I am very new to this so any and all advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you! |

| If she will be outside much you may want to get some clothes for when she's a puppy, coat, sweater, etc. If you want to get them before you get her ask the breeder to measure her. Congrats on getting a new pup by the way. You have a lot of fun ahead!

| I wish I would have started out Kimbo with a little t shirt or something when he was younger. He's 3.5 months old and hates wearing anything but his fur! Congrats on your new baby! |

| Congratulations! You have now made the choice to have your heart walk outside your body by making the choice to buy a yorkie! They are very easy to fall in love with and oh the 1st one always holds that SPECIAL piece of your heart! You are pretty safe at ordering XS for a puppy if they are bred from breed specific sized parents. If the parents are larger or the breeder keeps the puppy longer than normal, you may want a size small. Just know they grow quick in the beginning so you could go with one or two XS items and the rest small. I have clothed my yorkies from day one. I also suggest a small knot/pony tail on their head each morning when you wake to get them used to that as well unless you plan on keeping him/her cut short. Make sure you take the hair down and brush it at night so it doesn't tangle. I have a new baby getting used to clothing and ponytails right now! I pu clothes on them from time to time but I love a full coat so I don't leave them dressed for long periods of time so thier hair does not tangle and break.

| Congratulations, you can measure your furbaby and you need to take into consideration on how clothes will fit with your babies fur. You might have to buy a little larger if hair is thick or long.

| Once we got Roxie we knew her size and we bought her a few coats, sweaters, and tees- not a whole lot just enough to get her used to them. We started dressing her on a daily basis (November is when we got her) so she had no choice but to wear them and now that she is an adult she doesnt mind wearing clothes. Good luck and congrats on your new pup!

| When I got my Yorkie my family asked me if I was going to be one of those 'crazy' people who dress their dogs, and I said no I wasn't! Well...........My son-in-law was the first one to buy her a dress!! She now has 3 dresses, a raincoat, 2 t-shirts, one harness, 4 collars, and 3 leashes!! Unfortunately, she is so tiny that even the x-small is still big, but one of the dresses is an xx-small, and has the ring for a leash so she can wear that one without her walking out of it!! I take her out with me whenever i can--the people at my Bank love to see her, they scoop her up whenever I go in, and they always check out what she is wearing!! Congrats on your baby!!! |

I agree. I would get like a fleece coat or some type of sweater for a puppy. Here is a good site, I was thinking of getting one from here. go.fetch™

| I would get a sweater or a jacket. Both of our yorkies wear XX-small or X-small depending on how the outfit looks. Some of them are made small while others are made big! If you want your puppy to wear clothes often then I definitely suggest starting young! Our oldest just knows when we buy her clothes... She loves it! She'll drag the outfit out of the bag if we don't pull it out for her in time! She never chews on them either... She takes such good care of all her outfits!
