odd crying Gatsby is eight months old and he dose not sleep with me at night anymore because when he gets up in the morning he will pee on my roomates bed even if i take him out first he will save some piddle just for her so i started crateing him at night and when we get up to pee or get water at 6or so in the morning we take him out and set him in the playpen in the backyard and then when we are done we let him in and let him have the run of the house until time for school or work this morning i let him out and back in and then because i was not feeling well i went back to bed he sat outside my bedroom door and cryed like he was in pain so i jumped up to look for him and thear he was sitting outside the door i thought that he wanted attention so i let him lay in my bed and watch cartoons then about a half a hour later he started crying again and he had not moved i picked him up and cuddeled him and checked him over to make sure he had not been injured yesterday or something but he was fine he cried until my roomate came inn to see what was wrong then stoped when she left for work he started again until my boyfriend came over to take him for a walk since i was not feeling well then when my boyfriend left he started again like he did not me to be alone has this happened to anyone before after about 20 minutes after my b/f left he settled down thanks in advance

Congrats on your new furbaby !!!! Keep a eye on him , and see if he need to have his ears clean. You take him outside on the grass, make sure ants didn't bite him. If He cond take to your vet and made sure it's not something else. My will do that if she can't poop or it's get struck on her. She will not move , and I have to help her and clean her up before she will move or stop crying. Good Luck ! bark@ulater! manina, miley, max

It could be that he is just one of those pups that has a mournful cry. Some pups will just cry and cry for attention and so act like they are hurting but they are just wanting attention. I don't know how much attention he gets and how much he is confined but it could be that he does need more attention. You might consider getting some belly bands and let him sleep with you with a belly band on. It also might help retrain him on going outside. Last edited by bjh; 08-10-2009 at 08:44 AM.

outside You said you leave him outside by himself till you are done, maybe something scared him,I dont let my little girl outside by herself for i min.we have a big dog pen with a gate and my dgt. put a chaie in there, we sit out there with her,she is never alone, I am afraid of other animals like hawks or something. We are with her every min. when she is outside,we dont take any chances.

My little boy is similar, he is soo dramatic about everything! He cries and whimpers like he is in extreme pain if we are not giving him constant attention. While we are making food for him he cries and cries until we set his plate down. When we take car rides he cries in his crate like it is pure torture. He whines when we even put him in the bathroom because he knows he's getting a bath! If we leave a room or shut the door he cries so loud we can hear him throughout the house! At the vet he cries miserably, and doesn't stop until we are home. It seems like he just cries sometimes just for the heck of it. The vet says this is just his personality, hes not sick or anything, he just craves attention and knows what he does and doesn't like. This can be a good thing though. He lets us know (by crying of course) that he needs to go to the bathroom, so he has been a bit easier to potty train! It seems like your boy just loves you so much he can't stand to be in another room than you! As for the random crying, if he doesn't seem to have anything physically wrong with him then he probably just wants attention. Sometimes, I will be sitting with my pup and all of sudden he will whine, and nothing seems to be wrong. I just pick up a toy and start playing or petting and loving him up and he stops the crying. He's such an attention whore.

She follows me every where and races me even to the bathroom and if by chance I beat her there and close the door she cries!!! I just think she is a drama queen and doesnt like to ever be alone!! Hehe yep thats my little man. I've become so accustomed to the whimpering that if he was truly in pain, I would probably have no idea. He can be a bit of a handful sometimes but I adore him Sorry got to go, baby is whining for me to tuck him in bed.. yes he insists I put his baby stink blanket on him and will let me know that he is very unhappy if I don't. Haha he is such a dork sometimes..
