| Sadie's first thunderstorm Okay tell me if this has ever happened to anyone or not. I was in the shower and hubbie was watching Sadie, and a big boom hit, Sadie was playing with him and next thing he knew she popped a squat and pooped and peed on the blanket. I think it literally scared the poop outta her. I think in the mess and chaos of picking up the blanket and trying to calm her she peed on the blanket again elsewhere. (The blankets cover our carpet up). I cuddled her up and there haven't been anymore loud ones, now she's sleeping, but that was a mess. She still had it coming out in the kitchen a few minutes later when she ran towards her daddy for rescue from her x-pen. what a mess. anyways does anyone else have a potty problem during storms, what can i do besides the snug t-shirt thing and the desenstizing thing to get me through tonight with her not pooping anymore. Thanks, Rachel and Hubbie Michael |

| If you remain calm then she should. We have never had any issues but if I react then they do. I would just sit her next to you and calmly talk to her and try to relax her as much as possible. Good luck!

| Missy is completely housetrained, but if she gets really freaked out she will poop/pee. As she gets older, it happens less and less. I think that it's important for you to remain calm and then she will soon realize that there's nothing to be afraid of. If you get all worked up and overly sympathize with her, it will confirm in her mind that there really is something to be afraid of.

| Update on our night Quote:
thanks again, we had a rough night last night, she needed to pee at 3:30am but there was no where to go outside, it was pouring and she doesn't like to pee on the concrete patio under the over hang, also she wouldn't use the potty pads, so eventually she used the kitchen floor. this morning i forgot to pay attention enough to her and put her in the bathroom and got to talking to DH and Sadie used to bathroom floor to poop on. mommy got mad at her, (stupid mommy) i was so tired and frustrated at her, she whined all morning and i was too tired to give her attention, so i x penned her, she hates it in there for some reason, even with all her toys, food, water, crate and bed. it's really annoying to hear her screaming all morning while i got ready... this is the only morning that we both had to go to work, so neither of us could devote attention to her, i hate penning her....i cried on the way to work, it's so hard to leave her alone for the first long day. we did it last night for only an hour, but today is 6 hours. i hope she doesn't think we hate her.... | |
