| My little escape artist! So we take the girls to the park last night for a little walk in some new scenery. We're walking along and everything is just peachy until Megan decides she doesn't want to go the way we want to go...so...she contorts herself into some kind of modified summersault and backed right out of her step-in harness! Now, this harness was snug...so snug in fact that just before our walk I told Larry we need to get her the next size up so I know it wasn't because it was loose. I turned around just in time to get hold of her and we got her back in the harness but I didn't take my eyes off of her for the rest of our walk. I won't use a collar for walking. Is there another kind of harness I can use that she won't be able to back out of? I was thinking something like the leather ones they put on harness racing horses...you know...they go around the chest, belly, front legs, back legs, hips...you get the picture! |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Thats scary!!! Even without a harness, when they slip out the door, my dogs wont go more than 5 feet away from me. Guess im lucky. No ideas on the super harness for you though! I could use one for my toddler though!

| That has happened to me once with Ryder. It is super scary but I always use a harness and he listens quite well. I am not sure what else would be safe to use but weird incidents do happen.

| nacke...she didn't go anywhere but it sure scared me half to death! LuvMySissy...I use a step-in harness that's like a figure 8...each front foot goes into a loop, there's a divider between the 2 loops and the ends come up and connect over the shoulder blades. The leash is attached to 2 D-rings. Nothing touches her neck. Is that the same as a choke free harness? Cindy...what's a Lupine Harness? |

Hehe you post made me chuckle a little.....this is what my bf and I call a JAILBREAk.....hehehe..they can be so sneaky and smart. I use the harness that goes around the chest underbelly front legs. You can get it at any petsmart, it has proved effective for the super escape artists.
