| My female has darkening skin on her belly...? My female yorkie whelped her first litter on June 6th. The pups are fully weaned and her milk has dried up. The teets have shrunk down from their swollen state... and now I see that she has darkening of the skin around her teets and her vaginal area. Has anybody else had this issue with their dams? Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks, Amber

| Does it eventually go away? The only other female I ever bred never had this happen to her. Thanks for your reply!

| My girl had her pups in March. Her skin is starting to lighten some, but is still darker than it was. I have seen other yorkies do this as well. I do not know if it is a yorkie thing, or an individual dog thing.

| Molly's skin goes dark in the summer and lightens again in the winter. I assumed it was a kind of sun protection thing. |

| My vet said it is an allergy. He actually wiped it with perixode once and it went away. I just don'ttake the time todo it.
