| Don't know what to do My apt. lease ends next month and I was supposed to move to another community, but I just found out that my unit won't be available until late October. I can't stay here as it's too little notice to add an extra month or two, unless I sign a year contract (if I did that I'd lose the other apt. and I've been on a waiting list for it). This place is hell on earth and there's no way I'm staying another year. In the meantime, my mom said I can stay with her until my place is ready but she won't allow JoJo there. She's hates dogs and is a huge germaphobe, so I know she won't budge. She's my only option. And I have absolutely no one who would be willing to take JoJo for a month or so....not that I don't want him with me...it's killing me thinking of being without him for even a short period of time. So I'm at a loss here. I'm so upset now and can't think clearly as I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do with my baby. I can't believe none of my family or friends are willing to keep him for a short while. He's the sweetest thing ever!! Anyway, I just needed to get this off my chest, and hopefully someone can suggest a miraculous solution for me!

| Yes, she's met him and she doesn't dislike him like she dislikes other dogs now that she's gotten to know him. But she has really bad OCD with germs, and she wears a doctor's mask during the short visits when she's here (I know...weird. But she's always been that way so I'm used to it). And she freaks out if I let him out of his x-pen. I spent over an hour last night trying to convince her to let him come with me, and even went as far as saying I'll seclude him to his x-pen (poor baby), just to make her happy, but she said no way.

| convince her that it's only for few months; she's your mother; if she can't help then who will. ask her nicely and tell her that you can provide her with some money or food while you're staying there; also maybe you can put jojo in a cage if she doesnt want him out; at least he will be with you. i bought a big enough cage for my dog; and she stays there while i am at work; she loves it; it's like her home; she goes to sleep there by herself when she's sleepy. check petco or petsmart for a playpen that you put him

| I do rental agreements with my dad (I'm his little helper) and I know that in some cases, after a lease is up, you can have a month to month agreement. As in, you'll pay month to month and can leave as long as you give a 30 day notice. If your lease doesn't stipulate this type of agreement once the lease is up, contact the manager, or owner if you have the contact info. Sometimes all you have to do is ask, and they'll probably be grateful because they'll know when they have to prep that appartment to rent out again. I will say if it's a company that owns and manages the rental units, it might be a little harder. I've never dealt with a company and I think it might be harder because getting a hold of someone will be your biggest challenge. Good luck! And remember that it never hurts to ask!!

The 3 Musketeers Donating Member | I live over here in Cloquet/Duluth, MN. How close are we? I could take JoJo for you while you are living with your Mom. I could drive half way and meet you. I have a very mellow English Cocker Spaniel, a 2 3/4 yr Yorkie, and a 12 week Maltese so you can tell I love dogs. You can call me at 218-591-8439. Cindy

| If you can't find someone you know to take her, perhaps look around for an in-home puppy sitter (local classifieds or word of mouth recommendation?) or a boarding kennel (they usually give discounts for extended stays). Boarding probably wouldn't be a fun option, but as a last resort I would suggest that. Maybe if you find a boarding place they would give you a discount if you helped out with dog walking or something? I've known people with OCD & their garage is even spotless...but if your mother isn't that way, perhaps you could set up a pen in the garage for your little one? Or keep her in your room at all times with the door closed? I am sad for you, I know it is heart breaking! I had a horrible time when I had to leave for a weekend & couldn't find anyone to watch my babies. I ended up boarding them and they got through it OK. Good luck - fingers are crossed for you!
