| I'm so upset and need to vent I'm in the midst of a conversation with the owner to a doggy daycare/grooming facility where I had my dog groomed yesterday. I noticed that he had nicks on the top of his back paws (I originally posted this in the grooming section earlier today). The owner and groomer are flat out denying it happened there, and the owner is not offering me any sort of apology. He told me I can bring my dog back for another grooming to show they do not nick the dogs....my trust has been lost and I have no clue what I can do next. I was very happy with the services at this facility until yesterday. Now I am angry and unsure of what to do. I need resolution. I'm so angry they hurt my dog. |

I am sorry your pup was knicked but consider yourself lucky in a sence. I have read dogs loosing ears or pieces of ear's right here on YT. One Yorkie even got stitches in the neck due to a gouge from the scissors. Learn to groom yourself it's not that hard. Will they let you stay and view next time? Perhaps you will feel better doing that. These things happen all the time unfortunately. They shouldn't but they do. Glad she was not hurt worse. | |

| I am so sorry that your dog was harmed. Is there someone else who uses this service that you could talk to about it? Perhaps he/she had a similar experience. If you think your dog was harmed and the service is denying it, regardless of how they were in the past, I would find another groomer. |

| I second the motion of grooming your baby yourself. Get a book and in no time you can do it. I have 2 schnauzers and 2 yorkies and believe me the yorkies are really not that hard to do. There is just not that much to do to them. I use to groom years ago and never seen some of the abuse people talk about today. I'm sure there were things that happen but its just like people don't care anymore about anything. I am not about to take my babies to some of the people. I have seen them when we were in Petsmart jerking them around and I tell ya, if that had been one of mine I would have been on them in a minute. If they don't have the patience they shouldn't be doing the job. |

| Be very careful of groomers You're leaving your dog there for hrs and sometimes very strange things can go on There was a few stories recently here in S Florida where someone picked up their dog from one and it had a broken leg another had a dog die on him after he took it home If you've had a bad expeience with one time to move on

| Did the owner/groomer see his paws? Accidents happen, it is strange that they would flat out deny it. I groom my dogs myself, but my sis is a groomer and will come help me out when I need it, teach me what I don't know, and has a lot of really nice grooming tools. I don't know if I would do it without her to guide me. I also have not seen a professional use a dremel type tool on claws. I have only seen the clippers and a file. Of course I live in backward land. I thought the dremel stuff was more for pet owners?

| Better Business Bureau Take some good close-up pics of the dog's feet right away (both feet and the whole dog), to prove that the pics are of the dog they groomed. Then contact the Los Angeles Better Business Bureau to file a complaint. Sounds convincing that they nicked your dog's feet. It would be unlikely that both back feet would be injured by accident some other way (one maybe, but not both). When a dog comes back from the groomers with both back feet nicked, there's not another good explanation. I agree about learning to groom your dog yourself. I started doing that many years ago because my poodle would come out trembling after being groomed. |

| I would feel better if they would have mentioned something at the time or when I spoke to them just now, they would have called themselves on it. I know accidents happen and I am understanding of that. I would bring him in to show him, but I am out of town til Thursday. I'm hesitant to groom him myself. I am moving in a few weeks, so I will be looking for a top-notch grooming place. If I can't find that then I will learn. It is not my strength, however I know he will be in safe hands. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Sorry you're upset and your baby has a boo boo. Maybe they didn't notice it or didn't see it happen. My kids come home all the time with bumps and bruises and they never know where they're from...

YorkieTalk Newbie! | Soooo sorry to hear about your baby. We just changed groomers to try a new one and our little guy came home with a few nicks and then we noticed a gouge right under his eye from a scissors. It became infected and had to go to the Vet. This was our first and last time at the groomers. I suggest to never go back and pass the word on to others. Good luck. |

Also...I too, am a lay-groomer for ALL my girls now. It wasn't that I had a terrible groomer experience but, when Bella was diagnosed with Collapsed Trachea I decided it might be safer for me to do it myself. I didn't want to risk having her neck in one of those loops on the grooming table unless I was there doing it myself. So...I bought a table top grooming table and gathered up all my supplies for less than a $100 and just started saving myself the worry of Bella's neck getting injured plus, about $900/year!

| I understand how you feel. Rockie had a groomer since he was 4 months; one month ago Sal said he'd stopped grooming cottony smalls dogs because it took to long. Well, l tried a new mobile groomer and she nicked Rockie on bottom of his paw and did not tell me. I notice it when l was looking at him myself. She said it was nothing. So l will not be calling them again. I need to learn how to groom him myself.

| I'm sorry this happened to your baby. I'd been using the same groomer for atleast six months for Piper. The last time I brought him they knicked his eyelid. It was all swollen and tearing. I asked the groomer what happened, and she told me it was like that when I brought him in. Needless to say it was the last time I brought him there.

| If you want to be certain they take good care of your baby ask if you can stay with him. If they object then obviously they do something they don't want you to see. My groomer lets me stay with Scruffs and doesn't even use cages. I love her. You should try to find a new groomer.
