| Nico snapped at me!! After I picked him up from the groomers I reached down to pick him up and he snarled and snapped at me! I was so shocked! But I have to remember that I have no idea what he went through these last few days away from home...and it makes me so sad. Will he be aggressive now or will he eventually get out of it??

Thor's Human Donating Member | When you say he was away from home these past few days, was he boarded as well? I think he is probably just very stressed out and he will return to normal. Don't fret.

| May I ask what did you do when he snapped at you? If nothing you better make sure he knows who is boss. Do not let him do that without getting him under control. No he will not continue to be aggressive unless you let him. |

| Wasn't he the one that got out of the yard and was missing for several days? Have you checked for injuries or bruising? It may just take him a while to get over his fear from the last few days. He may have had to snap and bite a lot while he was gone to defend himself, or you may have startled him. Bless his heart! |

| I'm thinking that with his ordeal being missing those few days (who knows what he went through) and now going to the groomer so soon afterwards, he is probably just having a hard time dealing with all this. Give him some time. I hope things work out. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I also think the trauma of being missing and possibly hurt brought it on. Also he may be stressed after his ordeal and then going to the groomers. Poor baby has been through who knows what.

I know I have no idea what he's been through. We went to the gas station and he rode along. He usually loves all the attention he gets but he growled at a man who stopped to admire him!! He's NEVER done that!! When he snapped at me it startled me. I bent down and he sheepishly started walking towards me like he was afraid. He is so different right now and I want my old baby back! When I heard the vet's side of the story it's making me question the lady's intentions on bringing him back to me!! It's all one big bizzare story! I AM happy he is home though!

| I agree it was probably just stress. Being lost was, I am sure very traumatic for him. You will never know what he went through. Give him lots of love as I'm sure you already do, and be firm don't let him get away with naughty behavior. |

Thor's Human Donating Member | He might be in some physical pain as well. Thor has bared his teeth at me a couple times, and it was because of pain - once because I tried too long to get a topknot in with a rubber band, and once because I touched his tummy when he was sick. Honestly, Thor's head doesn't have a lot of room - like, we moved offices and he is suddenly pooping indoors again, which he hasn't done in a year. I mention this because if your little guy was scared, he might be very discombobulated and still need time to adjust to being home. I'm glad he's back with you! Keep an eye on the back leg, though.

| Sounds just like a teenager who has had to come home from his first adventure and get back to normal. I think he is just confused, I am sure he will be back to his old self soon. |

| Upset Dog I think he might be mad at you. I know one time when I took my dog to a certain groomer, she complained all the way home. I never took her back to that groomer. My dog nips at me when he is upset. Just give him lots of love and keep things as quiet as possible for a while so that he has the least amount of stress and can recover from whatever his ordeal was. Apparently it was not pleasant. Poor little guy. |

| Maybe she thought you took her to the groomers because she was bad. Who ever knows what these little guys think. |
