| Do you think he's drinking enough water? Gus' urine is clear & oderless. He drinks lots & lots & lots of water. Squirt's urine is dark & smelly, & he drinks very little water.

Is water available for him all the time? Do you feed him dry food? If so, you could add water to it.

| A good ploy if they won't drink is to put ice cubes into their drinking bowl - mine adores chewing and sucking ice cubes, and it's an excellent way to get water into her.

| Cocoa has a few tiny kidney stones. Nancy1999 told me to add a little no-salt, low-fat chicken broth to the water. She loves it. I haven't been able to find any commercial chicken broth so I cook chicken and use the broth. ~Joanne~

| Has he been neutered yet? The urine of intact males is pretty strong smelling. |

| I was going to ask if he had been neutered too....I do rescue and there is such a difference in the odor of an intact male dog and a neutered one I could not believe it.... Also I agree the more water they drink the less the odor too....

| I agree with the water intake and being neutered. I'm waiting for my Pablo to gain more weight before he gets his surgery. He is going to be 1 yr and weighs 3lbs. Average size, just skinny. |
