| Keeping belly bands clean? How do you keep your yorkie clean if they are wearing belly bands? Wookie wears them all the time when I can't watch him. And has to wear them at night. But his hair gets all pee smelling and matty.. How do you keep it clean consistently without bathing him every day? |

| You can try baby wipes. In the case of my friend that has a boy yorkie who wears belly bands, wearing them keeps him from peeing because he doesnt want to get himself wet. You may want to try a different pad. Maybe one that claims to keep the "wearer" dry so if he does pee the pad soaks it up and doesnt let it stay on him. BUt other than that I would only think some sort of antibacterial baby wipe maybe?

| Hmm, ok I'll try that. I didn't think about that. He started wearing the belly band around the house when I cant watch him just recently. Probably the past 5 days or so. And he doesn't ever pee in his crate, so I am hoping that he will get the idea that he shouldn't pee in it. And he is getting neutered tomorrow!! ahhhh so hopefully it will all go well. Thanks for the info! |

| We line our belly bands with Always sanitary pads and part the coat on either side of it when putting them on. If you change them frequently they don't seem to get bad too fast. I also keep the belly hair trimmed really short right there. |

| I line my belly bands with a sanitary pad too. I buy the thick long ones and cut them in half and use half at a time. I change it every so many hours, almost like checking a baby for a dirty diaper and change if need be :P Max's hair is never smelly or full of pee. I give him a bath every weekend and it works out perfectly. Good luck!
