| PEEING :'( I know this has been mentioned.. OK- I know there are like a zillion posts about this on here, but i'm at my wits end. Maggie is almost 10 months and STILL not house broken. I'll recap what I've already told everyone: I JUST moved into my new apartment at school, but the last 7 months she and I were living at my dad's house. As soon as I would make some progress with her he would do it "his own way" and make us take a step backwards. He would take her out 3 times a day and sit out there for over an hour with her while he read the paper...not even paying attention if she went or not. I would always try to take her out every 2 hours, but he would ruin it. She still thinks going outside is just PLAYTIME because that's all she's known. I'm trying SO hard here, and it's just not working. Pee pads won't work, we leave her in her cage when we're not here and let her out RIGHT after, I take her out before and after bed. I don't know what else to do... Sometimes she refuses to go outside and I don't nkow what to do. Even if she does, she still goes in the apartment a little bit alter because she doesn't know it's wrong. We keep scolding her and taking her directly outside, but no luck Someone pleeeaaaase help.

| Have you tried using a potty training aid spray? You can buy it a Petsmart and is called Potty Training Aid and is by Simple Solution (I'm sure there are other sprays though). All you do is spray it where you want them to pee. The instructions read: Spray a small amount on a pee pad or outdoors where you would like them to pee. Allow your pet to sniff the area and praise her when she performs. Continue the training process my reapplying product and bringing your pet back to the spot often, especially after eating, drinking, playing or napping. Also, when Maggie pees in the house make sure you use some kind of deodorizing cleaner or spray or she will continue to smell her pee and use the carpet as her toilet. My male chihuahua is very attracted to the potty training aid - it's kind of gross because he tries to rub his neck in it Also, I found potty training indoors with a small dog easier especially because I live in a suite - there's no imediate ground level door and they don't wanna freeze their butt off outside and neither do I. If you are interested in pee pad training try the spray and try not to punish Maggie too much - I found positive reinforcement worked wonders. I trained mine by picking them up mid pee / poop (as they are peeing / pooping on the carpet) and placing them on the pee pad - I would also say "eh eh" as soon as I saw them having an accident. Then I would praise them if ANYTHING got on the pad. Then I would leave the pee pad a little dirty so they would go back there (by covering the pee with a paper towel or leaving a small nugget of poop) This worked for all 3 of mine. I hope this helps, I know how frustrating it can be to potty train

| We pretty much bribbed our yorkie (she is almost 8 months old and just now is getting potty trained good) I take her out all the time (trying to prevent an accident in the house) and say "Lets go potty" then we go outside and I stand there until she goes (I make sure not to play with her. Eventually she gets bored enough she's pees) then as soon as she pottys I take her inside and tell her what a good girl she is, then give her a very small doggy bacon treat. She has gotten to where she knows that if she goes outside, she gets a treat. And I'm sure that I don't give her on if she didn't actually pee or anything. Now all I have to say is "Do you need to go potty?" and she'll go to the door, then as soon as I let her out she usually goes right and does her thing, and as soon as she is inside she sits by her bowl for her treat. She still has some accidents in the house, but this has cut them back a lot. Good luck with you little one, I know it can be frustrating!!
