Yorkie Yakker | where do yorkies sleep all night? Okay. We went on vacation for a week and put our little Sophie in our bed every night. Now we are back home and she thinks she needs to be in our bed there too. I realize we have made a bad mistake by letting her in with us in the first place but I hated to make her whine and cry in her little bed beside our bed while we were at my son's house. I knew she wouldn't settle down and I was afraid she'd go off alone and get lost and make a ruckus or have a pottie accident. Anyway, is the damage done? Will I be able to transition her back to her little bed beside me or am I going to forever be worried that we will roll over on her in our sleep or knock her off of the bed that sits two and a half feet off the floor? I am terrified we will hurt her and I have not had a decent night sleep for three nights. At 3 am I felt like pond scum putting her in the family room in her kennel instead of worrying about her safety. I tried putting her back in her little bed but she barked at me everytime like I had forgotten her. I didn't want her to wake up hubby and I was tired of trying to keep one hand on her all night. She only weighs 2lb 9oz! help! |

| Well, this is what I did...I pushed my bed up against the wall, and I bought one of Chattiesmom's napsaks. Missy sleeps in her napsak right beside me (up near my head/chest area). That way if she even budges a muscle, I wake up. She doesn't though, she just sleeps contently in her napsak all night long.

Yorkie Yakker | sleepless Oh I do want her there beside me! Should I just keep trying and will we eventually relax? She sleeps very soundly and is so sweet when I pick her up to move her! But hubby is a sleep apnea mask wearing maniac during the night! If his mask slides to one side too far he will suddenly gasp for air and throw himself to get the the oxygen he needs. That's what he did last night when I finally gave up and took her downstairs. It just terrifies me that he'll clobber her or roll right on top of her and I won't know she needs help. What is that knapsack thingy you're referring to? What is it? How does it work? And where/how do I get one? There is absolutely no way I can move the bed up against one wall. The room would look completely ridiculous and ruin the feng shui !!! But some sort of a baby railing to shove between the mattress and box springs when we get into bed at night might help. I could put her on MY side...except when I try that she just climbs over me and gets inbetween to two of us, way under the covers. I'm wondering if the AC makes it too cold for her too, even in her bed, well, two weeks ago when she slept there...woe is us! |

| When I first got Fiona, I tried to train her to sleep in her crate, well as she got to know me, and how I was , that changed real fast. She has been sleeping with me in bed ever since she was about 4 months old, so yeah, thats where she sleeps. I have been staying at my boyfriends house for almost 2 weeks now, and she will be right up on my pillow, then jeff, and then his dog honey, its sorta cute!

| When Sasha was a puppy, I used to put her in her crate at night and have the crate right beside my bed. I don't remember how old she was but one night, she just refused to go in her crate and turned around and gave me that sweet pathetic little puppy dog pout and has been sleeping with me in my bed ever since. I definitely wouldn't have it any other way. It's nice to have a little fur ball curl right up next to you. |

| Both my girls Leah 2 years - 6lb and Ellie 1 year - 4lb sleep with me in bed every night, they pat me if they want the blankets lifted or they want a cuddle, its kind of sweet to have a little fur ball on your pillow when you wake up or when they sigh as they settle down to sleep. |

| Tobie has slept in our bed since the first night that we got him and it has never been a problem. I didn't really worry because at first he always slept at the head of the bed on one of our pillows but now he his 6 pounds and sleeps in between DH and I. Hmm... that wasn't much help was it. LOL. My Rat Terrier slept in the bed with me for 14 years but after I got her a really good comfortable doggy bed she wanted to sleep in it. I think she got tired of me moving her around every time I would roll over so she wanted her own space. LOL.

| Bentley used to sleep in our bed before we got Houston. Having two in the bed is just too much (I like my space). houston cant jump into the bed so he never does. Bentley will start on the floor cause he knows hes not allowed and then when we are asleep he will jump in the bed and lay all over my legs. Its a habit we can not break cause he is a little jumper like that. Sorry to say no advise and that bentley cant not sleep with me. (which in a way i like) |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | My babies all sleep with me and a couple even slept with my from day one. I do have a queen bed all to myself and they all sleep on the other side. I would be a little afraid with your husband's sleep apnea. I think maybe getting a little bed and teaching her to stay in that away from your husband's side may work.

| I started Toby out in a crate. He didn't care for it much but did ok for the first month. Then we went to visit our son and like you, I worried about him not settling down. Oops. He's never been back in the crate to sleep since then. We never even bother trying with Lola...they both sleep right in the middle of the bed. I worry sometimes about them, but they usually sleep snuggled right up to me. No real help here either, but at least you know you're not alone.
