Breeder help... I'm in the process of looking over a health guarantee and the guarantee I'm looking over says "limited to a replacement puppy". It also says "Breeder shall not reimburse any veterinary expenses or other expenses incurred by the buyer at any time." I have never looked at a health guarantee before now so I'm not sure if this is normal or not. But what if the vet DR finds something wrong with the pup and I choose not to take another pup from the same breeder and want my money back so I can purchase a pup somewhere else. Thanks, Chrissy

Based on what you have there... it sounds like your only option is a replacement pup. Why don't you discuss it with the breeder and see what she says?

Senior Yorkie Talker | Sorry I have to agree...it sounds like the only thing you can do is get a replacement. Sounds rough I know. Some breeders are in it for $$$. I have my contract on my website that way the new family can read it before anything else is done.

We won't be buying a puppy until months down the road. I'm just wanting to educate myself before I make such a big decision. The breeder I am talking to seems really nice and has been very helpful. She is actually a member here on the board. Contracts just confuse the heck out of me.

Replacement puppy is pretty standard in contracts. Breeder shall not reimburse any veterinary expenses or other expenses incurred by the buyer at any time. Is also standard in most contracts. Last edited by yorkiegirl2; 07-14-2009 at 08:01 PM.

Thanks to everyone. I did end up talking to the breeder about these questions and we worked something out through email. Thanks again, Chrissy
