| is there such a thing? My yorkie at one year is so laid-back. I have never seen a yorkie as quiet as he is. When I brought him home at 10 weeks he was a terror but after having surgery for legg perthes he has gotton so quiet. Is there such a thing as a quiet yorkie? My other yorkie of many years ago was always a rip and into everything. Is it the surgery that changed him? Does anyone else have a young yorkie that is happy to lay on your lap and watch the rest of the gang play? I am so worried that he is in pain and doesn't want to move because of it. He doesn't seem to be in pain when I move his hip. His surgery was 4 months ago and the vet says he's healed. The vet said he can take another x-ray to see if the hip looks ok but assured me there was nothing wrong. I hate to have to put him to sleep again just to satisfy my worries. Anyone out there have a laid-back yorkie at only 1 year of age? He will play and loves to go for a walk but loves more to just be in my lap. Am I worried for nothing? Should I just be happy he is subdued, and assume this is just his personality? Should I risk, yet again, having him sedated for an x-ray? |

| I have a puppy who is only about 9 months old. He is so mellow completely different from my hyper go lucky girl! I know Ryder is healthy, but he would rather be with me and has no interest unless I am playing with Roxie. Crazy boys!

YT Addict | Well, if you are concerned you should get him checked out... but I do have to say that when my Emmy was around the age of one he calmed way down. He is a quiet lap baby, he's only frisky if he thinks someone is at the door. I have never ever seen a well behaved dig like my Emmett. So, it is possible for your doggy to just be laid back.

| Tatum is VERY laid back and mellow - just like our toy poodle before her was. I've always thought it was because when I'm at home, I'm pretty mellow and basically a couch potato . She does have her moments where she will run and chase and fetch a ball forever if you let her but once I sit down, she's quite content to just cuddle or assume her perch on top of the couch.

♥Tiny Tia my Furbaby♥ Donating Member | If in laid back you mean doesn't misbehave then yes Tia is one. Even from a pup at 13 wks she was easy to potty (2 wks) and not an accident since, shes a year old now. The only thing she chewed as a pup is a bit of wallpaper ONCE. She loves her walks and sits quite content inside a pub or at an event or inside someones house. She only barks if she hears the door bang which is rarely.. She loves kids and other dogs. She doesn't mind being left when I leave for work and she is very content to sit and cuddle in the evenings. To me she is too perfect which is why I won't get another yet , look what it would have to be up against lol Be happy your baby is laid back and enjoy. x

| I have a 6 yr old that I have to draw a line to see if she moves! Unless it's meal time or someone comes to the door, she just lays there and sleeps mostly. She does not play with the other dogs or toys at all. I don't know if she was ever any different b/c I got her only a few months ago. Her previous owner said she was always like this. She is healthy and is a couch potatoe! I used to think there was something wrong too but this appears to just be her personality, so unlike my others, the rest of the gang is constantly on the go, even the 8 yr old, go figure....
