| Do you have pet insurance? If so, what kind? I am considering getting pet insurance for Scooter. He will be two next month and while he is healthy now, I know you can't qualify once they aren't as healthy. There are SO many kinds of pet insurance out there. I have gotten quotes from several companies and they all offer different plans at different rates. Do you have pet insurance for your yorkie? If so, what company do you use and are you happy with it? Are there important "add-ons" I need to get or specific coverage I need to watch for? Did you pick your plan for specific reasons? I live alone so I cannot afford a really expensive plan, I just want something economical that can kick in if an emergency happens. Thanks in advance!

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I researched several plans before I decided on PetPlan for our Yorkie. I really like that I can decide the level of coverage and the amount of deductible, etc. Plus, I like the fact that they don't drop the pet after 7 or 8 years. I would caution you to look for that in your research since Yorkies generally live longer than other breeds. Also, although I felt very comfortable in knowing our breeder and our dog's lineage, I still had read horror story after horror story on here about the medical issues that Yorkies (and other toy breeds) seem to incur most often. Be sure that any policy you choose does not exclude the very conditions you need covered for peace of mind. I cannot testify to you about the actual implementation of the policy since (thankfully) we have not used it. I did like the interaction with their people in my research and purchase. Pet insurance is something I hope I pay for and never use but the realization that it will not be finances that force a decision on Taffy's care is what I primarily purchased. Here's the link for the insurance I purchased: Pet Insurance for Dogs and Cats - Petplan Pet Health Insurance |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I have VPI and have been pretty happy with them. They do exclude preexisting conditions and genetic and hereditary diseases. When I got the insurance I didn't really check other's out. I pay 23.00 a month for each of my 3 girls. I have used a lot on Cali and received good reimbursement.
