| My Female Yorkie I got a Yorkie from a vet that was someone took there cause she found her walking down a busy road. I found out about this dog and brought her home for my 8 year old little girl the only thing is the dog really hates her. She dont bite or grawl but will run from her at all times straight to me. I feel bad for my little girl but have found a great dog for me. Is it normal for female Yorkies to bond with men, she is right with me at all times goes everywhere with me. She likes my wife and the 2 older kids but I am her favorite by far. sometimes ill be busy doing something and she will bark at me if I dont hold her. I love this dog to death but is this normaly the case with female Yorkies? |

| I think she has picked you as "her person". My Piper is very friendly, but she definitely prefers me......she sticks to me like glue! I'm female, though.....so I can't say if they are like that with men. Since you don't know what her past was, she may have had a bad experience with children and that is why she isn't fond of your little girl. Give it time, and don't push her and maybe she will come to trust her. Good luck, it sounds as if you have given her a great home. Welcome to YorkieTalk!!

| Female yorkie Hi we have two females and one is bonded to my husband and the other is bonded to me. Neither of them particularly like children as children can be impulsive and make quick movements towards them and can scare them. I have had to work with my grandchildren to sit and wait patiently for the yorkies to come to them, and give them a treat when they do. When my granddaughter was three I caught her pulling the hair on one, and since that day even though she is eleven now my Yorkie has not forgiven her! Yep Yorkies love to follow you around. My husband sits down to watch TV and then sighs because he has one on both feet. He calls them Yorkie slippers and sighs because he is such a mush he hates to disturb them when he wants to get up. Enjoy, you have a dog that loves you with all her heart and you are now her world and it revolves around you. happy fourth and bless you for giving her a loving home!!! |

| YOU are IT!! LOL My hubby and our little guy Seymour are also glued at the hip. It is funny how our these little dogs have their "favorites". You can make sure that your daughter doesn't run after the dog and have her try to sit on the floor and work on teaching some tricks with the dogs favorite treats........ Yorkies LOVE to please!!! (not to mention they LOVE treats!) We use itty bitty Buddy biscuits by Cloudstar. www.Cloudstar.com
