| Need advice please! Hi, i have 4 yorkies. 3 males and 1 female. Just recently one of my males attacking my smallest male. He doesn't do it to any of the others, just the smallest one. It been happening for a while but now its getting worse. They just cannot get along at all. Even when i have them crated, they will growl at each other through the crates. Yesterday was the worst that i have ever seen. Chico attacked little bit and absolutely would not turn loose of him. It scared me so bad. I kept them separated for a while after that, then last night i decided to try it again. He went at him again. I have tried everything and nothing works. None of them are neutered. Do you think it would help if i had them neutered? Someone told me that it makes them more aggessive after being neutered...is this true? I don't know what to do. I don't want to rehome Chico but if it doesn't get any better i might have to. By the way, these two dogs are dad and son. The son always attacking the dad. If anybody has any suggestions please let me know.... I won't be on today because my son is getting married but will read comments tonight. Thanks in advance. If i can't come up with a solution to this problem, i just may have to rehome him. Thanks in advance!

| I only have one, but my sister had two jack russells and the exact same thing happened between them - after the aggressor caused the smaller one to have to go get stitches, she got them neutered - the next 10 years were peaceful and the one would let the other one lick his ears when he was feeling bad. They ended up calm (except meal time would have to be in separate rooms). |

| i definitely think neutering would help. from my experience that helps with aggression. i would at least try it before rehoming. good luck!

Luv my 7 Furkids Donating Member | My boys did that too and one was already nuetered. The thought of rehoming just broke my heart. I got the other one nuetered and the fighting slowed but didnt stop, I always separate them when Im not home, and at feeding time just in case but now its rare that they fight. |

| Thanks to everyone for the advice. I will definitely get all 3 males neutered and the female spayed before thinking of rehoming. It just breaks my heart to think about rehoming. I love all my babies.

| Would definately neuter! I had the same situation and neutered and spayed all three. I too separate when sleeping and eating and it makes for a more peaceful home! |

| Intact dogs will fight. Not just males, but females, too. Hopefully getting them all spayed and neutered will help and you won't have to resort to rehoming any of them. |

| It is totally normal for intact males to fight. It's a Terrier thing too.. I've had females fight too, so once it's started, it may slow but most likely will happen again after neutering. Be careful, they have a pack mentality when a fight starts, and the whole gang will attack the one that is losing.. even females will join in. Never leave them alone without supervision, or you could come home to a real tragedy. |
