| Advice Please! I have a question about one of my other dogs, my chow mix, but all you guys seem so knowledgeable that I thought you might know. Shiloh threw up during the night and it was mostly blood. He has been acting fine, but yesterday did not want to eat much. We have been giving him ibuprofen for pain and I think he might have developed an ulcer. Any advice? Will be taking him to vet today but thought I might get some insight from you! Thanks!! |

| I didn't know you could give dogs ibuprofen, but it would certainly upset their stomach just like it can ours. I do know you can give Pepto for upset stomachs. Perhaps that will help to coat and ease it some. Good luck at the vets, let us know what they say.

YT 1000 Club Member | Did the vet reccomend the ibuprofen? If there is any kind of bleeding you should stop ibuprofen it makes it hard for the blood to clot. What kind of pain has he been having? The best thing to do is go to the vet and make sure whatever you give them is ok'd by the vet and watch dosages. Hope all turns out ok!

| Stop the Ibuprofen now! That is like pouring acid on an ulcer. Hematemesis ( throwing up blood) is a sign of upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage. Getting him to the vet asap is the best idea. Please keep us updated on what the vet says. |
