| Removing crate from Xpen, a bad idea? I know that it is suppose to be a good idea to leave a open crate for a puppy, but Bailey prefers to sleep on his pet pad bed rather then in his crate lately. Is it okay to remove the crate from the Xpen? Or would it be better to remove the pet pad? I can't have both because there isn't enough room in the pen. He does prefer the bed though, it is so soft and cushy, I can understand why! Thanks for any advice.

| If he prefers the bed there is nothing wrong with removing the crate

| Thanks! Sometimes I just need reassurance that what I'm doing is okay!

| Absolutely remove the crate. Bra'Tac only wants his blanket, no crate. If it makes him happy, why not!! |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I just kept a bed in Joey's pen. You could use the crate for overnight, and even put his bed in it. Now that Joey's older, he really uses his crate more, I made a cover for it and took off the door, so he can come and go at will, and he loves his little "cave".

| Missy switched from her crate to a bed when she was still using her ex-pen. Whatever works right?

| Thanks All, I know it is good to have them like their crate for purposes of travel to vet appts etc, but I removed it, Bailey is much happier with his bed! Glad I am not the only one who did so
