| Taping Ears I have heard recently about taping your Yorkie's ears. My little Cindy Lu's (14 weeks) breeder stated she had started taping one of her ears that is floppy and my vet also mentioned it. When I got her the ear stood up for about a week, but has been floppy for over 2 weeks now. I know that when they are teething the ears can flop, but a friend of mine has a Yorkie that ear never stood up. Does taping really work? TIA

| Yes but you have to tape for a while. Im not sure of the schedule exactly but I think you leave them taped for a week and then un-tape them for a week and the tape them for a week etc. Something like that. There are cases where the ears just dont stand tho! There is someone on here with a dog that has one floppy ear and hes sooo cute!

| I did her ear like you suggested. I used scrapbook paper and eyelash glue. Hopefully it will work and it doesn't seem to bother her. Thanks

The scrapbook paper and eyelash adhesive is ok....but, it does tend to pull the ear forward and can break cartiladge.....try using masking tape to make a bridge across them....keeps them a bit more stable.....

| One of my concerns is can the skin breath underneath the paper? Is it healthy for the skin?

Senior Yorkie Talker | Masking tape works best. And you may have to do again if they don't stay up. Keep them shaved. The more fur on them, the harder it is for them to keep them upright when they are still transitioning. |

| Breeders have been doing this for years. That's why you leave them up for 5 days take them down for 2.
