| I stink at playtime So my DH is away on a trip to Okinawa for a week and its been a few days. I try to play with Marley but she is not interested after 5 minutes. I know that my DH is better with playtime because he really gets her going and chases her and they are like two kids and he loves playtime with her, where as I like to play with her , just not as rambunctious(sp). I love to cuddle her though, and she knows it. She comes to me for lovin' and him for playing. She will even go as far as to "taunt" him to get him to play LoL. I really feel like a jerk right now because I am a horrible "play-er" .. How often do you all play with your furbabies and what kind of things do you do to play? I just toss a toy or two around the house for as long as she will stay interested and take her outside and let her sniff around for a while when its nice.

| You shouldn't feel bad! It is the same way in my house. My oldest son (18) is the "player" in our family and he is the one they go to to play with. They come to me for comfort, care and love. I think it's fine, just different "jobs" in the pack. Just love that baby till the player gets home! If she wants to play before he comes home she will let you know. Kim

Thor's Human Donating Member | Aw, I'm sure you are a good player! Maybe you can learn more about how to play from your dog. I actually get down in front of Thor and return his play bows. I also play tug of war with him, during which I get in his face and play growl. I will put a sock on my hand and let him bite it. I also chase Thor around my office (I know I sound completely crazy at this point, ha ha). I don't do this outside because I want him to RETURN to me outside, not run away. If I had a yard, I would chase him around there, though. He sort of knows the drill. If I kind of stomp my feet at him, he takes off running. Sometimes I throw a toy, which he attacks, and then we play "Keep Away". He loves hiding behind corners and peeking out to see if I'm coming after him. It's hilarious. I honestly wish Thor liked other dogs more because I know I can't be the greatest play partner. I'm not nearly as nimble or quick as he is! I guess I'm all he's got though, and beggars can't be choosers.
