| So Puzzled: Marking or Not Potty-Trained or Just Mad At Me??? Hi Everyone, I am thoroughly puzzled and need your help. My yorkie, Mochi, is 5 years old. I've lived in 3 different places with her (including a condo where she was trained on a pet-a-potty box and wee pads and did well, a house with a doggie door that she would use to go to the backyard)...She has been potty-trained and as had little accidents only when we left her indoors for too long... She is now with my fiance who lives in a large house with a door leading to the backyard. My fiance and I live apart (I live in Boston for school) and I had to leave Mochi with her. So, here's what has been happening: * I just spent 2 weeks with her and have re-connected with her but had to leave for the east coast again. * She has been going on a spot that another dog had gone on. I thought that this was marking, so my fiance put a book over the spot. She went about 4 feet away on the carpet indoors! * My fiance packs his overnight bag to visit and she gets really upset (sulks). This time, which is the first time that he left her since I've left, she has pee'd on the carpet twice! Once, she went outside to bark at some birds...and then came inside and pee'd right by the door. We're so puzzled, and not sure what to do at this point... Any advice/insights would be greatly appreciated.... |

| Welcome to YT! Assuming she is healthy and everything, I think you may be right, she may be upset at you. Since she is 5 already, she should have the pee training down. Dogs are creatures of habit, they don't really like it when their world changes. Eventually she will get used to it. Just have your fiance try to work more with her while she is adjusting. Good luck!
