| Can someone take a look at this collar please? Please let me know if it's ok for my puppy? It's a cat collar and the only thing I could find to fit him right now. I only want a collar on him for id purposes. I thought the bell would be a good thing until I get use to having him underfoot. Thanks

| It's cute, cute, cute. And I know you aren't planning on hooking a leash to it, because you've already researched harnesses. I bet, since its a cat collar it has the bonus of a break-away clasp. Our shihtzu who passed several years ago, never topped 6 lbs. She wore a cat collar most of her life. (I didn't even know about harnesses then)

| NO!! You want a "breakaway" collar. Read my post about almost losing Max. He got his tags caught in a heat/ac vent and almost died. You want a breakaway so if they get caught they "breakaway" from the neck. Good luck. (Find my thread and see the different recommendations)

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I like break away collars, esp. for little guys. It's really important to fit it properly too...bc it's different than what they say for a bigger dog. You don't want the collar to "hang", lest it gets caught on something. You really just want the tip of your pinky to fit btwn collar and neck.

| Look for a ferret harness: they're just the right size for puppies, and you can put a bell on it (if it doesn't already come with one). It's what I used for my pups until they got bigger. |

| Ella and Jack are both microchipped, but I like to keep tags on them just in case. They're home alone during the day, so I got them breakaway cat collars. I have 5 now, for variety I get them at Petco--they're called "The Saftey Collar" (it was important to my bf that they didn't say 'cat' anywhere). I think they're about $7 or $8.

| Hmm, I wish Micro chipping were done here. The collar states that it is a safety collar, but Iwill look for another, in the meantime this collar will only be on when I can watch him closely, and so he can get use to wearing one..2 more days until Friday when I pick him up!

| No, it doesn't have the breakaway, I have to buy one online I think..this one has an elastic that stretches when pulled, I guess that is the safety aspect that was written of on the package..but I'm not really sure
