| How Do I Find Dog Friendly Beaches? I've been searching online and am super confused!!! One website says one thing and another says something completely different! So how do I know if my local beach is dog friendly, or not??

| I wish I has some advice but we don't have any beaches around here. Just a lake. Our dog loves the lake!

| I look at places that have vacation rental info. If there are any places near you that do vacation rentals it will tell in their rental info. We just came back form NC on Saturday and the girls could be on the beach before 9am and after 5pm.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Here you only need to visit the website of the particular city and the information is provided. Ours depends on the location...and in our resort area dogs are not allowed on the beach from memorial day to labor day. Found this....click on the particular beach. It indicates whether pets are permitted. Beaches

| I forgot to add, I already checked the city websites for Seal Beach (where I wanted to go) and Newport Beach. Seal Beach was a little confusing and a lot of digging, but I think I got a definite "NO DOGS" from it. Newport is SUPER confusing and doesn't really give that info. And what's up with the time restrictions???

It is a bummer though. It would be much more fair to have certain areas on most beaches just for dogs.

Senior Yorkie Talker | There is a dog park in Costa Mesa also on the border of Newport near the Fairgrounds. I live in Newport and take my dogs to Crystal Cove State Park. You can't take them down onto the sand, but you can follow all the trails up above and there are tons of dogs, so it is a good social exercise. It's also fun to walk around Balboa Island with them and Fashion Island shopping center is very dog friendly. All the stores welcome pups. |
