| Yorkie Mom new to Forum I am a brand new member of Yorkie Talk, I have three Yorkies a boy (Minion) and two girls (CJ and Kaci), two have kidney disease. One is 12 1/2 years old and the other is just 10. These little guys are my heart, Kaci's numbers were not that bad when I did her yearly in March and found out about this, but she stopped eating yesterday. She went to the vet today to see if her blood work has gotten worse or better. I will know in the morning. She did have a urinary infection, I hope that this is why she is not eating, but I lost my Golden Retriever in November of last year and this seems very similar to what she did. I cannot even believe that I might lose my Kaci, she is my shadow, my love, we are together constantly and I am not sure what I will do without her. I have a question to this knowledgeable community, have any of you had a Yorkie that did quit eating and still get better? This is her second day of not eating, she is a good eater and has been all of her life. She was put on antibiotics this morning, she has been taking epakatin, but not the azodyl. I talked to the doctor today about putting her on it. CJ my older Yorkie is on both and seems to be doing good, her numbers were higher than Kaci's I guess maybe that is why they put her on it but not Kaci. Since I have been reading here though, I wish Kaci had been on it for the last three months. I look forward to being a part of this forum, please say a prayer for my Kaci, and I look forward to your comments. I entered this on another thread and then read that I should not, I should of read my messages before I posted. I will get the hang of how things are done. Linda |

| Hi Linda. Welcome to YT Sorry to hear about your pup's kidney issues. Could she not be eating because of the antibiotics she is on? As humans i know they can really mess with our systems. I'm sure someone will come around that has more knowledge than I do, I just wanted to welcome you to YT |

| Hi Linda and welcome to the YT family. So sorry to hear about your babies and their kidney problems. I have no experience with this or with one not eating for days so I'm not any help. Maybe since she went on antibiotics this morning she will feel better and have more appetite in a day or so. Can you entice her to eat with something special? Maybe some boiled chicken. Hopefully they both will be better very soon. Keep us posted, we get attached to Yters on-line babies and like to follow their progress. Charlotte |

| Yorkies can have bladder stones and need urgent, life saving surgery to remove them. Are you sure there are not stones? The vet found Gus' stones with a pre-op (for tooth cleaning) x ray. He ended up having bladder stone surgery too! At almost 15, he's had two of these surgeries and he's doing just fine! Best of luck! Quote:
